    Thoughts?

Landry and McDuffie should be the obvious choices. I personally would not be surprised to see Duff accumulate enough attention this upcoming season to test draft waters.. The man has everything they love in the big leagues: Size, length, athleticism, jumper, and a whole lot of potential

This. There are plenty of others that could step forward, but few that have the combination of skills and athleticism already.

John Robert Simon. No one else will pick up the mantle of leadership Fred left on the locker room floor and John Robert steps up, shows he knows how to run 3G's offense and defense and emerges as a national sensation.

Shaq and Rashard are already leading the big guys according to the Sully article. I'd love to see them step up even further into that role. JRS is helping out all the younger guards. I think once the season gets rolling and the rotation gets set, it will be Shaq and Shamet on the floor. I think Duff will be the best player, but he just doesn't seem to do a whole lot of talking, more of a lead by example kind of guy. But I'm very likely way off base, and that could change with FVV and Ron gone.

Yes. I found it interesting that Sully only mentioned JRS. Is that truly how the way the young players feel or is Sully projecting his perception or bias?

If you watched the interviews with CJ and Daishon, it seemed like that was their feeling as well. Or at least that was the impression I got.

Can someone point me towards the article with the interviews? Don't think I've come across it yet.

The two I read I found on FB Someone posted them and I just clicked through. I don't have a link, but I'm pretty sure they were Kansas.com articles.

One thought that came to mind is that they are competing with CF and LS for playing time and starting positions. The hierarchy hasn't been established yet. Only that our two starting guards are working out for NBA teams. Everyone right now thinks they have a chance and JRS while older and respected isn't viewed as a threat yet.

Could be. Could also be that JRS really is the one helping them the most, for the same reasons.

I loved his comments and his honesty. The comments about shooting airballs due to 2 a day lifting sessions and the fact that Shaq and Zach Brown deny everything he tries to do.
