Okay, because I have to atone to St. VanVleet, an alternate list:

    PG: Fred ('13-14)
    SG: Frankamp ('16-'17)
    SF: McDuffie ('15-'16)
    PF: Early ('12-'13)
    C: Morris ('14-'15)

Thinking about Fred's dishes and Shaq's ability to finish led to that switch.

Or, how about the "You Shall Not Pass" Team:
    PG: Fred ('15-'16)
    SG: Cotton ('14-'15)
    SF: Brown('16-'17)
    PF: Hall ('12-'13)
    C: Orukpe ('13-'14)

THAT'S a team that could keep teams in the single digits for an entire half.

      2013: FVV
      2014: Early
      2015: Baker
      2016: Morris
      2017: Shamet

This is a fun exercise. I like my squad because of the versatility of each player. Pretty much every player can hurt you with shooting, and FVV, Baker, and Morris are our best defenders.

I'm not sure if this is allowed. May have to ask the judges

But does this mean you are taking a freshman Fred? If so, I'd be taking Armstead from '13 over Fred. I kind of took this exercise as if you're taking them from a certain year, that's the exact player you're taking in terms of age and experience. Makes this exercise a lot harder.

                    2013: Hall (Sr.)
                    2014: Early (Sr.)
                    2015: Cotton (Sr.)
                    2016: Baker (Sr.)
                    2017: Shamet (R-Fr.)

This team has some elite defenders (Cotton, Baker) as well as almost everyone who can score at will. I still feel very dirty for leaving Fred off this list. And it's a roster full of seniors plus one redshirt freshman.

That is the way I approached it, though for Kel's team you can switch the years on Early and Fred and get the desired result.

                          Fred
                          Shamet
                          Baker
                          Shaq
                          Hall

I felt comfortable leaving Early off of the list with 3 interchangeable guards who can score 20+, and leaving Cotton off the list with no glaring holes defensively and Shamet's athleticism.

Make a WSU starting five using one player from each of the past five years (2015-16, 14-15, 13-14, 12-13, 11-12).
Need a reall starting 5 so one player at each position, can't use the same player twice even if he is on 2 teams.

                            I think I'd go:
                            12: Stutz, Sr. (5)
                            13: Cle, Jr. (4)
                            14: FVV, So. (1)
                            15: Cotton Sr. (3)
                            16: Baker Sr. (2)

I defy anyone to score on this crew.

Others I considered: Toure, Hall, Armstead, Ragland, Carter.
Couldn't take Toure or Ragland because Stutz is by far the best choice for the 5 spot, but had I chosen one of them I'd probably take Carter at the 5. Can't really take Armstead or Ragland at 1 over FVV but damn they were good.

Bumping this a little early but I was thinking about this the other day so here we go.
Starting 5 from years 17-18, 16-17, 15-16, 14-15 and 13-14. Popular picks Hall and Armstead are no longer available.

                            14: Cle, Sr.(4)
                            15: FVV, Jr. (1)
                            16: Baker, Sr.(2/3)
                            17: Shamet, Fr. (2/3)
                            18: Shaq, Sr. (5)

Others I considered: Cotton, Frankamp, Kelly
Cotton is easily 6th man on this team, just couldn't drop Cle, Baker or FVV, though if you wanted to take Jr Cotton from '14 and find a 4 somewhere else, (move shaq to 17, take kelly from 18?) I'd listen to that argument. Getting Cotton in the lineup is the most interesting wrinkle to this years version of this game in my opinion. There just aren't that many other reasonable options, especially since Shaq is by far the best 5 man available (all due respect to the 3 headed monster).

This would be a solid lineup.

The only real debate I had was cotton or baker. Figured the team would benifit more from
Cottons D, since the team was already pretty stacked on offense.

Cotton, Cleanthony, Fred, Ron, Landry.... Orupke in for Landry if the other team has a real post player...

Orukpe graduated in 13 right? So I don’t think he is eligible here.
