  • Draft article on Fred

Why would anyone spend a 2016 NBA Draft pick on a senior point guard from a mid-major school who's neither big nor lightning fast? Maybe because he really knows how to play.

I also think there is a "mental" speed to the game, and this kid is quicker than any point guard in America at it. He'll adjust to the game no matter what level it's at, that's for sure. He'll make an NBA GM look like a genius someday, when he gets his shot.

Thanks, I needed that after reading about the fiasco that is the MVC COY results. Very nice article.

Let’s hear it for the little guys, who certainly have proven one thing this college basketball season. Size doesn’t matter.

Too late, he has been fan-drafted by the Spurs.

Seriously though since I'm already on the record - he is the ultimate Spurs team-first player. Had a better college career than Patty Mills, and there's no doubt in my mind that given the same amount of practice time he would contribute more.

I still think Joey Rags - no offense Cle - was our best NBA prospect of the last few years, but Fred takes the number 1 spot in my opinion.

He will have to give up those falling-down drives to the hole though - those angles aren't there for him in the league.
