I came home from Vegas on Sunday after placing two bets on the Shockers. The first was to win Sunday with a spread of 12. Won that one easily. Next bet was on Shocks Natty at 75:1. Next game FVV goes 7 7 7. Now, I'm not a very superstitious person, but coincidence? I think not.

Yep, we’re totally "spoiled". Sure, Fred didn’t have his best game as a Shocker, but he made everyone better like he does 99% of the time. He continues to amaze me with some of his passes. I sure hope some NBA team takes a chance on him; his incredible passes will lead to numerous ‘Sports Center Top 10’ highlights… his teammates will love him.

75:1 dang that's a nice ticket. The one that I have purchased in April of 15 was only 18:1 odds

I guess shortly after a sweet 16 appearance the line would be higher.

Yah. I was shocked when the guy told me the odds. I guess I shouldn't have been based on the misfortunes of the season, but usually Vegas is out in front on these things.

This is a school with over 16K enrollment, that plays in an arena with a capacity of 4,486 that if you took out the Shocker fans in attendance, would be way short of 50% full, in a fabulous market such as Chicago, and the student section behaving like junior high kids. Nope, nothing podunk or low mid-major about that at all. Perhaps she needs to unbunch those panties a bit.
About the capacity of Lindley Hall in Newton. If you have 16000 enrollment and a 4,486 seat gym, that's Houston Baptist University territory. I would definitely consider it to be Podunk.

I think the MVC commissioner left his brains at home when he said adding LUC would be a 'great boost' for the valley. Might as well added Sagamon State.

Damn....must've been shortly after Orlando, or right after one of the 2 Valley losses.

It was recent, I'm thinking it must have been after UNI?

                  • WSU's pressure defense tends to result in drives and breakaways to the basket. It seems to me that lately we have seen really hard (I would call them flagrant 1) fouls against the Shocks to stop the easy score. I understand fouling in that situation. Not the whole take downs and clotheslines lately.

                    Is is just me?

the rules are in place to control that, but it's never called

ON TARGET. Fred's floor game and some of the dimes he dished were of the "no one else could make that pass" variety.

Ah, the ever original hair chant.

How does it feel that a sixth grade haircut kid has OWNED your asses your entire existence in this conference?

So glad we have the Chicago market.

The whole thing it kinda funny and ironic, because I was thinking last night if there were any of those super-original "not a state" shirts made up by LUC. I forgot that's not their annual thing for the WSU game; their annual thing in the WSU home game is to make fun of Baker's hair, so I guess we can look forward to the "not a state" shirts starting next year with these hoopleheads.

                              • Loyola will never deliver the "Chicago market". The only thing they bring is a chance for our Chicago area fans to see a Shocker game, an easy/fun road trip game for Shocker fans, and hopefully open up the recruiting grounds to WSU. None of these things benefit Loyola other than maybe selling extra tickets to visiting teams.
