  • Game winner?

After the UNI game and Conner's miss I started thinking about Game winning shots. When was the last time we had a game winning/tieing shot?
I love the last three plus years but when have we a game winning or tieing shot? We've had chances but have made one in the last four
    years?
If you're not going to go all the way, why go?

    That's a good question.

We all certainly remember Matt Braeuer's winning trey vs Creighton. That is one of those unforgettable moments. Nothing comes to mind off the top of my head since then but some one will come up with it (if there was one or more).

Carter's dunk last year vs. Alabama was with :11 left. Kelly's put-back in Hawaii last year on FVV's missed 3 with 3 seconds left. Cle's three @ IlSU in '13 after the ninja-kick was with 6 ticks left. Granted, all three of those the opponents had the ball after us with a chance to tie/take the lead, but none converted.

Its fun looking back and seeing how far the team has come, yet still have a respect for just how hard these guys worked to get shocker nation where it is today.

Watching and remembering these games, I realize that we don't have a true "rival" like days of old; teams like Tulsa in my day, or Creighton after that; teams at our level that could legitimately beat us, and where games were uncertain from pre-game to finish. NOBODY left those games early! Man, we need a change of conference! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8T4aUW7DH-Q

Dude got too good of a look after TM's big shot. But that was really cool. Look at all of those young faces. There were some studs standing there in that huddle. Kinda forgot about Gabe. He was an athlete!

Man, FVV vs UK...if it had gone down, it would have been the most epic shot in Shocker history IMO.

No ones gonna remember this. Aaron Ellis put up a game winning shot in the lane to beat creighton at home in the NIT title year. Senior night I believe. I was always a fan of his, so I remember thinking it was a great way for him to go out.

It would've been one of the top shots in NCAA history. I was actually going through random YouTube videos just a couple days ago and happened to stumble upon the shot and watched it for the first time since I saw it live. Fred had even more space than I remembered.
