WSU @ Evansville Game thread

Not our sharpest game by any stretch, but the defense was fantastic. On the road, against the #2 team in the league, in their super bowl, we still win by double digits.

This is a really good team, getting better every day.

The last 15 minutes of that game was nearly unwatchable, except for Fred just teeing off on a team who has the best season ever and still can't even sniff WSU. Seemed like there were 10 Evansville possessions in a row where they blew the whistle on us. As soon as that ball entered the paint, whistle. Probably the worst officiated game of the season, and it's been a rough season on officials. Oh well, still won by 13 and now have a 3 game lead. Suck it, Miserable Valley Conference.

Big win despite some of the worst officiating that I have ever seen. I'm not normally one to say anything about the refs, but man that was a brutal game to have to watch. Fred was unreal and the team defense was incredible. The big guys also hit the boards hard. A great team doing to great teams do, GO SHOX!!!!

that game was hardly an isolated incident. refs/officiating have a LOT to do with the decline in popularity of college basketball.

i'm impressed with the way that the shox play tough, stifling defense without resorting to grabbing, kneeing, clutching, pulling a'la siu a decade ago. they play defense with their feet, the right way. expert positioning and recovery.. and just getting better and better.

Before there a bunch of meltdown posts about the season is over and blah blah blah, let's just remember this. That team is easily a top 4 team in the country. If they can defend like that, which they have all year, they can make the final four and maybe win the whole thing. Please keep that in mind before any crazy posts are made.

The number of calls Evansville got with their offensive player initiating the contact and our guy going straight up was incredible. Also, did you notice the offensive elbow that Wing threw right after the half that was SO much more obvious than what Rashard got called for, and Wing got away with it. The game was poorly officiated all around, but the Aces definitely got their share going their way.
