WSU Versus UNI Predictions and Pregame Discussions
This has the feel of a classic trap game. UNI at home, coming off a bad loss, refocused against a high-profile opponent.
Yes, I'm nervous for this one.
Good point. Will they stroke it like against us last Season and N.C. this Season or like they did not versus Loyola whom won their very first Valley game this Season? Actually, this Loyola loss was the very worst game I have ever seen UNI play and it was even a home loss which is not common in Valley play for them. Their Defense last Season seemed better than this Season too and with Tuttle gone inside on Offense, that helps.
Look for Washpun to penetrate often to score or kick it to sharpshooters. Knowing that, we need to keep our key guards out of foul trouble. Likewise, I loved how FVV and Baker were drawing fouls by penetrating last game. UNI subs are not even close to as good as their 5 starters IMO, so getting their key players in foul trouble would be sagacious.
Last but not least, I hope FVV has another crossover fancy smancy move followed by the swish as he did against Mr. Bohannon. (if I recall it was him) Bo is a pretty good defender but was bo-jangled-tangled-twisted on that sweet FVV move and make. While watching that play my own self caused me to spill my large coke on a gals stale nachos. I thought about asking her for my money back for the drink but I was scart!!!!!!! Me keed.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
Washpun will run around the court with his head bobbing obnoxiously up and down all game.
And at least 2 of their players will trip over their own feet and scream bloody murder because no foul was called. And of course knowing how these things work a foul will then be called.

While I agree with you, I don't feel, I believe that this team is starting to find it's sweet spot and start firing on all cylinders, which it has not done yet.
All the goals are still in front of them and I believe they are starting to hit their stride. I like to keep my predictions for the big ones, but I won't be surprised if the guys are really impressive tomorrow.
Not sure why, but I just have a gut feeling that Rashard is going to finally get the lid off the bucket tomorrow and give us a peek at what he can be. I'm not saying he'll get 20, but I think he's going to get double digits, and maybe even push for a double double if he can get enough court time. I'll probably end up wishing I'd never posted this. If so, won't be the first time.

I'm also apprehensive, and that's usually a good thing for my teams. It's when I'm pretty confident that a nasty surprise tends to follow with distressing frequency.
In this case, I probably should be pretty confident, but I'm not nearly that much. So, go Shocks -- you should be free of the Watcher Jinx.
Sorry, I'm a little confused. Are you saying KU was the better team?
On paper they were. But obviously that wasn't the case on the court tonight. The Shocks are better on paper than UNI. That doesn't guarantee you anything.
It will be interesting to see how KU reacts to the 1st bit of adversity this year losing two of their last 3. Could be that the Big 12 has figured out the formula to play KU for now.

The formula was released by the team that on paper wasn't better then them in the NCAA tournament last year....smh
I'd like to add I'm sick of UNI and their super bowl mentality towards WSU. It's disgusting they lead the all time series 26-25 even though the Shocks have mostly owned them of late winning 7 of 9.
The series mostly started during the 90s of incompetence and that more than anything skews the results, but still.......
They have 3 wins in 4 overtime games (the 1 Shocker win being a meaningless 2OT play in game win in St Louis) and 6 other 1 basket wins, vs just 1 for WSU. That's unreal, to say nothing as to how some of those happened. The douchenozzle hitting a 3 here that probably cost the '05 team an at large, the 2011 game here where they shoot near 60% and twice as many free throws and turn the ball over like 4 times, Viet's 3 pointer to beat WSU in '08, the debacle in '06 that really started the disaster (not ignoring the Vegas trip just before) where WSU, again, get no calls at home, and on and on. Unusual performances by average players getting the better of the better team. Sick of it. A 92-50 type final will just mildly soothe my angst.
