The MVC Pick Em Contest returns. The same rules apply as in prior years: of course, the Valley conference season consists of 18 rounds of 5 games each. For each round, a participant predicts the winning team of each game and has a total of 10 points to allocate and assign among the 5 predicted winning teams for the round. At least 1 point must be assigned to each game in the round. No more than 4 points may be assigned to an individual game in the round.
Picks are due by the tipoff time of the first game of each round. If you are late getting your picks in, you lose points for the games that have already started, 4 points for the first game, 3 points for the second game, and 1 point thereafter.
Changes in picks and point allocations are allowed as long as they are made before tipoff of the first game of each round. Standings of the participants’ scores will be updated and posted after the completion of each of the 18 rounds.
Make your selections now for the Round 1 games which start on December 30th. Latecomers to the contest season are allowable, but of course they will be behind on possible points for the season.
We will also have a post-season Arch Madness contest. To participate in the post-season contest your final score must be one of the ten best point totals accumulated, including all ties, during the regular conference season. In the past this means many more than ten get to participate in the post-season contest.
Donations for prizes are gladly accepted. If you wish to donate a prize, please send me a PM. Cash donations, gift cards or WSU basketball items or memorabilia are welcome donations. I am shooting for a total of about $225 in value of prizes: regular season first place, $100; second place, $50; third place, $25 and Arch Madness contest champion, $50. Hopefully, we can collect that through donations. Let me know if you are willing to help with a prize donation. Thank you in advance.
