    • Shaq will get 20 when Fred lets him get 20.

      • One thing to keep in mind before beating up on coach's decision not to hold FVV out earlier. Yes, he made a mistake letting him play. He's said as much. BUT, even if he'd sat out earlier, there's no guarantee of what the timetable would've been to get to where he is now. That's the trouble with hamstrings. Depending on the severity/placement of the injury, sometimes guys come back in a week and are fine. Other times guys are out for a month and still tweak it when they come back. There's no way to know for sure. I'm just happy as hell that he's back now, and that our squad appears to have regained a lot of swag and a lot of angry from having him back on the floor. I see a big-time upward trajectory for our Shocks starting last night, and I'm extremely excited to be along for the ride!!!

        • Shaq tied Baker with 6 rebounds. In 19 minutes Shaq only fouled once but yet played some solid D. Baker and FVV are the best here playing tough D. without excessive fouling. We only had 9 turnovers which is a Shocker attribute when we are walking in tall cotton. By that I mean under 10 turnovers is Good. Add to that 8 steals with FVV leading us with 3. It was team ball for the Shocks last night with 19 assists. A road win at this juncture was of essence. Bring on Frankamp and bring back Shamet and we hope Grady and we will be just as good as advertised early on by the latter part of the Season when it counts the most.

If Ron weren't so f-ing big, strong and solid, or would learn to flop, there were at least three occasions where he had the ball and the collision sent tremors back to Wichita, but nary a foul called. One of those even in the right corner moved Ron back a foot or so, but because he stayed upright and in control, no call!

              1. Fred. A 70% Fred is our best PG by a mile. Amazing what a difference he makes.
              2. Glad HCGM reads Shockernet. More Simon, less Taylor. And more Ron at the 2.
              3. Shaq is back. Glad 3G didn't let Shockernet hand Shaq his walking papers. We need him to be succesful.
              4. Brown is so much better when he can be relagated to the 4th or 5th option. Nice game tonight.
              5. Evan back to doing Evan things.
              6. Fred again. Look what happens when Fred plays. Everyone goes back to their roles and the pieces fall back in place.
              7. Nurger looked like a D1 player tonight. He may take over for Wamukota afterall.

Looking forward to seeing Conner play next game. Good night.
This is what the team has practiced for two-plus years, except for the last 4-5 weeks. It is drilled into the returnees and the newbies are coming along, but are really only at 30-40% of the way. It is much easier to acclimate one newbie into the lineup at a time under Fred's direction instead of two without Fred.

Yes, Sam's shot was a thing of beauty.

That's nice but more importantly is how did Fred feel when he woke up this morning?

He probably felt a sense of accomplishment and purpose, as well. I appreciate the sensitivity of this fan forum by showing concern for their feelings. :)

                        • With Fred in the game its a much more deliberate well orchestrated offense. Without Fred it seems as if everyone (including RB) speeds up just a tad and the flow is not nearly seamless. There is a calmness and confidence that everyone plays with when Fred is on the floor. This is what leaders inspire.

Hamstring's are one of the most awkward injuries in sports. Anyone beating up on coach's decision to play him given that injury doesn't understand the way the injury works.

From my football-fandom side, Dalvin Cook at FSU had a bad hamstring injury all season. He'd play and be completely fine, rack up 160 or so yards ... and the next game he'd tweak it on the first play and sit the rest of the game out. Some weeks he sat, some weeks he played, once or twice he left the game for a quarter or two and then returned.

It's still possible Fred will have a set back or two coming up, but beating up Marshall for playing him would still be wrong. It's a tough injury to predict, and he needs to take the advise of the doctors and Fred.

That would make sense if Fred had not reported feeling like he had a constant cramp the day before the game. He was clearly still hurt.
