I know there was the usual grumbling about game officiating.
Normally, I come to the defense of those in fellow stripes. Sunday as an exception.

This was a case of 3 officials all on different pages of the hymn book. There was no cohesion, no consistency and non-verbal communication was nonexistent.

Case in point - on the MM strong side drive to the basket in the 1st half, JC was lead and clearly had a fist in the air calling an obvious foul.
RC came across from the center with a jump ball signal (he didn't raise his hand either to stop the clock)
JP had nothing from the trail.

There was no eye to eye contact between JC and RC. However, RC, as the veteran immediately took charge and made the held ball call.
JC looked at him, dropped his fist and kind of shook his head, but did nothing.
No discussion, no non-verbal communication, nothing. Clearly they needed to have some sort of communication and didn't.

Later, they got together underneath the basket at a media timeout and discussed.

I was disappointed for the crew as they did not have a good game and it showed. It clearly was evident they had not worked together much, if ever.

However, they were not responsible for the outcome and no matter what level they performed, had little effect on a 21 point deficit.

    That is all.

Above all, make the right call.

I am curious what your take was in relation to enforcement of the Freedom of Movement rules. I thought Ron was mauled a number of times against Alabama when he was off the ball. I also thought he took more of the same on the other end of the court when we WSU zone against Iowa. During the second half there was a complete take down that didn't get a whistle.

I agree with your analysis on the crew from Sunday. It was no coincidence that two of the Sunday’s officials got absolutely dominated by Valentine on Friday.

Lynn Marshall was on Bob Lutz's new radio show at 5 this evening. She was hilarious and was blunt with some of the comments she tells at the officials. Told one ref she was tired of with C- officiating. Made a comment to one of the Tulsa officials that left Gregg shaking her head. She's a great interview.

Apparently tonight was the first show. 4-6 o'clock on KFH. Called it the drive or something. Pretty good the 20 minutes I listened on the ride home. Had Kemnitz on as a guest followed by Lynn and then Shane Dennis. He has a side kick but I don't recall who it was (I think it was his son) but he was the main voice.

Dang, forget Lutz. I think that Lynn should have a radio show.

                This + 1.

She would be a hit and...like Gregg...tell it like it is.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the 2 officials from Friday. Bad or not, TV Teddy will dominate any official, anytime. It's just how he is.

I tried this last night and I'm getting the same thing now. I click to start and it reverts to Rome's interview with Cowher.
