However if the team with the ball calls a time out, the 10 second clock does reset.

So what happens if the defense knocks it out out bounds and the team with the ball calls a time out before inbounding? Does it reset?
According to the responses I've got on officiating.com, the count does reset following a timeout after the ball being knocked out of bounds.

That is the breakdown I needed, thank you.

        • I see lots of opportunity here to capitalize on. Young guys who would most likely sit on the bench are getting solid minutes on the floor and experience in a live situation. Fred will be back, that's guaranteed. Conner will be available soon, that's guaranteed. The team should be much better in a month or so. WSU will hit the conference schedule and tournament with a roster much stronger than it was, and with a bench that has more experience than it ought to have. I would much rather have the wins, and the top 10 ranking still, that's a no brainer obviously.

I also think there is some value in giving these underclassmen some adversity to fight through, and maybe develop their own chip that Fred, Ron, Evan and the rest have had since they were Freshmen. Some of these new guys are coming from a little different mold, a little bit more praise and expectation out of High School. Maybe a 2-3 start and being unranked is something to make em' play angry.

All said and done, this is not the season any of us expected, and it's difficult to swallow. I'm more devastated for the players like Fred and Landry who have to miss games. Their effort and preparation to be ready for this season doesn't deserve the outcome of injury. It's just not fair for them. This injury to Anton made me sick to my stomach, and I just couldn't stop thinking about him and hoping he is alright. At that point, I was just done with the game, win or lose, I just wanted him to be ok. I can't imagine being a player and trying to win a game at that point.

          • I love it how many of our fans are saying we must win the Vary Tournament to get in the NCAA tournament. It is still November. We have played 5 games with roughly 30 games to go. So many games left to know this. So many variables to know what the at large bubble will look like. Step away from the keyboard please!

            • It's my understanding that Tyrone Taylor did not have anything to do with Fred's hamstring. Pretty sure he wasn't involved with Landry's foot. No responsibility for the NCAA rule obligating Conner to sit out these early games. He was recruited by one Gregg Marshall to play basketball at WSU. Circumstances have put him in a position to play far more minutes, in more important situations, than would have been expected in October. He was the next man up. Seems like an unfair amount of blame is being poured on Tyrone because he was not prepared to replace Fred so early in his career. I, for one, am betting he will be a Shockernet favorite before its all over.

Gregg Marshall says Anton Grady conscious, alert. Team headed to hospital to see him soon.

                      • Hopefully things turn out OK for GRADY. It's terrible to watch an injury live that's possibly detrimental to the young mans health.

                            • im not at all trying to be negative, i just feel like people should be able to come and ask questions on this board without being berated by asshole comments like "your question was dumb" thats really improper forum etiquette and makes people feel unwelcome.

but enough with the back and forth all prayers to grady, nows not the time for negativity

Whether either you or I would like to admit, based on the last couple of seasons, they're absolutely right.

                                Cheerleading can't obscure the facts.

I'm optimistic they will make the tourney, but the more the losses pile up during the non-con, the tighter the margin our team has to work with, no matter whether they're quality losses or not.
