Somebody beat me to it. However, here's what's interesting. Just for kicks, I looked at the bracket to find out what possible times we'd be playing on Sunday, and either the bracket times are wrong, or they have some crazy bracket times.

When, not if, but when the Shox beat Alabama tomorrow, they would be in the 5th place game on Sunday. According to the bracket on the official website, the 5th place game is scheduled to be played at 6 pm Sunday night, after the 3rd place and the championship. In fact, the order is 7th place, 3rd place, championship, 5th place. Surely that has to be a mistake?

I feel a little better about this one.

        Shox - 76
        Alabama - 64

I could see us winning by 10 or losing by 10. I think it all depends on how Ron looks after playing 39 minutes the day before. If he's gassed, we lose.

If we beat Alabama, then yes. If we lose to Bama, then we play the loser.

I noticed the same. My best guess is they are trying to split up the 3rd place game and Championship games into different sessions to entice more people to attend both.

Based on the Alabama game I watched yesterday, they are an athletic and talented group. They played very well the first 4 minutes of the game when they stuck to their game plan of driving and dishing. It didn't take them long at all to get away from the game plan and start jacking up 3's and bad shots. I have no doubt the Shox will be far and away the more mentally tough bunch. HCGM is 10 times the college coach Avery Johnson is and it'll show. Shox 76 - Bama 64

Chance to go head-to-head with former Shocker recruit Dazon Ingram.

Don't be surprised if a _different_ underclassman shines today. Jumping on/off the bandwagon of underclassmen (especially freshmen) after each game can cause one to become bipolar. It wouldn't surprise me if McDuffie plays flat and suddenly Hamilton or Kelly or T2 plays quite well. Or McDuffie might shine again. It always seems random with underclassmen. Lol

                        Anyway ...

Also I am betting EH has family at this tournament ... isn't he from Georgia? I suspect we'll see some flashes of goodness from him!

Let's hope MM has another solid 2 games at this tourney. While I did enjoy his 14 points in 22 minutes, I really liked that he had 0 turnovers of our 15. MM also had 4 of our teams 13 steals which led our team in that category.

Once we get all of our players together, look for us to get our turnovers back to a mild roar of 10 or less. Taking care of the ball has been one of many ways we have won so many close games in the past.

We did tie USC in rebounds and they were tall and athletic. Hopefully today, we will clean glass, have better shot selection, and take good care of the ball. The better shot selection will help our cold field goal% and so will the return of FVV, Frankamp, and Shamet when they return. We are shooting solid from the free-throw line which is a trend that needs to continue and makes a difference in close game outcomes.

Did not see the current betting line in the paper today. Anybody have input on that today?
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Shox are 10 point favorites. Vegas is usually a little slow on the second and third days of these tournaments.
