Such language isn't permitted on this board. Tsk, tsk.

        • I think our program as a whole and Marshall really get up for playing high profile names teams...its the teams with chips on their shoulders like us....emm Tulsa...are the ones that can bite us when we are not looking...I think we win against USC...lose to Xavier or beat Alabama and of course the Notre Dame or Dayton teams are a toss up.

Nice to have you on the board.

You should watch your language, name calling and cursing is not nice in any language. Although I too have fallen prey to such ill advised behavior. You might be surprised at the education and level of intelligence of the average Shockernet poster.

I think if I wasn't a WSU fan I would be loading up on the USC ML.

This type of name calling is not welcome on Shockernet.

Gotta believe that GM will have the former team psyched up to whip the crap out of USC.
It is times like this that stars of the future step up to the opportunity. The Final 4 Season, we had more injuries than ever before. That Season, Cotton really begin to shine on both sides of the court. I remember we played S. Miss. and Nick Wiggins scored 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 18
minutes. In that same tough win, FVV played only 14 minutes, and had 5 turnovers and 2 assists. His minutes though increased and his performance improved lots as we got to the Dance and had big games there. We will never forget the 25' dagger that was felt around the world versus the Zags.

Will new future Shocker stars play well against some really tough teams this week? Hamilton, Brown, MM, Taylor, Kelly or Shaq? Could be, but 3G is a master at grooming players to be ready to wheel and deal in our rotation and we will be able and ready by March and April. It is great that we know we have 3 difficult games awaiting us even though we are missing 3 key players that we should have playing soon we hope.

Smack-dab during this game FSF will be feasting on turkey, the fixins, and pies with whipped creme galore, and want No rip-snorting digestion issues to follow, but rather some true-grit which follows when we win.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

                            • I have no doubt that all the young guys (except Shaq) have the mental 'want-to' to get on the court and bust their arse to show off their skills, that they belong on the court and to get the win for the team. The problem is young players get too worked up, tend to get themselves out of control and make stupid mistakes due to inexperience or adrenaline. With so little experience at the D1 level, they resort to what they've learned in high school/AAU ball (a lot of And 1 style basketball that emphasizes offense with no understanding on how to play defense and execute sets). They're no longer playing against undersized players they could dominate (see Shaq) practically by just showing up.

What we need from these young guys while FVV and Shamet are out is good fortune. Good fortune that GM was able to recruit players who are not only mentally tough but mentally capable to absorb and adjust to the D1 learning curve quickly. If we can get some, not all, of these young players to immediately step up and shine we'll be in great shape. But the Shox are in big, big trouble if it becomes the Baker/Grady show. Our future opponents already have a scheme to take these two out of the game.

That's asking a lot because we don't have any Ben Simmons or Karl-Anthony Towns who, from day 1 of college basketball, play like they're a junior or senior. I'm crossing my fingers for a great Shocker weekend along with a great fantasy football weekend too. Go Panthers, Packers and Lions!
