Well since you interpret things so well, I'll let you have at it.

No meltdown thread this year. Promise?

I haven't seen Wessel drive from the corner to the basket like Hatch did when he played SF. Brown has struggled with every minute on the court. McDuffie is a Fr in November.

We're missing the guy who makes everybody else on the floor look better. When everybody else on the floor doesn't look better, we don't look like a top-25 team. When we have to use a SG as our PG, then there's a deficiency (compared to expectations of fans and voters in the polls) at both guard positions on a team expected to have an AA at both guard positions.

Our opponents game plan to stop Baker. When Baker is playing PG and opponents can cheat off of Kelly and Wessel, that's pretty easy to do.
I disagree about Brown. During the first half he had a sequence where he denied a lay-up, got the rebound, started the fast break and got a nice assist to Baker. Unfortunately, coach was angry about his positioning on our press defense and already had a sub sitting there. Which sucked, because it was the kind of moment that creates confidence. Unfortunately, he got a complete earful and had to sit there and forget about the good things he had done. Hopefully he will push through this cause it is 100% a mental thing between him, his confidence, and HCGM.

        Feves,

Come on man. Re-think this. This is WSU with a future NBAer. Your better than this.

so perhaps until it is actually said maybe we shouldn't go around saying he did?

After we go 0'fer in Orlando, we'll fall below .500, drop from the rankings, have to listen to KU and KSU fans make fun of us, and we'll all be scratching our head. We'll make the tourney as an at-large and be given an 11 seed. I'm just going to keep telling myself that all these young players are gaining valuable D1 experience and the future looks bright.

Is anyone disputing that Marshall said vanVleet was "going to be out for a while"?

"A while" isn't a specific time period, but it sure doesn't sound like "going to miss a few days of practice". VanVleet has "tweaked" the injury every time he's gotten into a game.

I know VanVleet wants to play through the injury, and I know Marshall wants the same, but at some point the fact that that is not happening has to be figured out.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

When coach says "He's shut down for awhile" and that he has no idea when he will come back - I interpret that means he not playing versus USC.

If SB said it happened, it happened.

Care to put your money where your mouth is regarding an 0'fer in Orlando?

                      Yah... didn't think so.

I interpret that to mean he's not playing in Orlando. And it's likely to go longer than that.

If you don't gamble, then your comments are pretty much moot.

Well, at least our coaching and training staff are finally doing what they should have done after Fred originally injured his hamstring and making him sit until he's healed. Personally I don't care how long it takes we need to wait it out because this team needs Fred to reach its potential. Sure, this is definitely going to hurt our non-con, but hopefully it will force our young guys to step up which will be beneficial in the long run.

Orlando is going to be a struggle. Watched USC last night and they are a good team. I'm hopeful that our guys will step up and perform but I'd put our odds at 50/50 at best to win our opener.

Are we splitting so many hairs about was was exactly said about Fred "definately not playing...out for awhile, etc..."
Please...I will be shocked if he breaks a sweat during the upcoming tourny. Not because coach said "out for awhile," or any other verbage to the situation. Coach already got burned by letting Fred talk him into playing in either of the first two games. Coach isn't dumb. My guess is Fred won't play untill he can weather multiple practices at full speed without incident. My other guess, not being an injury specialist, but knowing enough about hammy strains, pulls and tears, is that we probably see Connor before Fred.
