If you listen to his show, within ten minutes he has said most of these....he loves him the English idioms!!!

Just remember to picture Bruce laying down with his hair all messed up and his eyes half shut with a speaker phone running as you listen to the show.

Or umpiring, especially the strike zone. Still, the thing about Kennedy is that he's as good a play-by-play guy as WSU is a basketball program -- high major all the way, despite living in a mid-major market and calling games in a league outside the Power 5 (I can only make myself say mid-major so many times, and there's one more to go yet).

What makes the Shocker TV coverage stand out so starkly is the contrast between radio and TV, which is really big. Unfortunately, that can happen in a mid-major TV market: the guys who can move up, like Dave Armstrong (MLB and NFL, Big 12 network, etc.) or Bill Land (Spurs) tend to do so unless they have a specific reason to stick around, as Kennedy does with his Wichita and WSU roots. So you have your choice between a radio team that could do high quality coverage (assuming adequate equipment, that is) at any level, or the TV guys.

Let's just put it this way: Yogi isn't dead after all -- he's living in Wichita and calling Shocker basketball on TV.

I don't know why you all listen to him. I REFUSE! I mute the TV and listen to Mike and Dave; I don't care HOW far behind or ahead the radio may be, it is infinitely better than the TV announcers, no matter who is calling the game.

Yogi's malapropisms often revealed insight and wit hidden beneath the guise of man playing a rube, whereas Bruce . . . well notsomuch.

Edit: I don't ever notice the local TV crew when I watch the game. It's really just BG noise - I did notice it a bit during the Charleston Southern game - mostly due to the fact that neither Bruce or myself could tell who was who.
