Rage at the opponent is tricky. I would hope that people spend more time cheering for the Shockers rather than against the opponent. If the opponent is someone like Hawaii Pacific or Charleston Southern, unless provoked, I generally won't boo or taunt too much.

The above argument does NOT apply to and isn't necessarily limited to the following:
-an opposing player/coach acting like an asshat
-Creighton (that hatred isn't dying anytime soon)
-the current Illinois State regime (I used to like ISU Red...NOT NOW)
-Kansas (you should have heard the filth coming out of my mouth from the confines of my living room last March)

Don't forget to actually clap for defense to start the halves.

Drives me nuts when the entire crowd is actually standing and doing something and the student section is trying to start some other cheer that will never catch on.

Me either. It's also normal to boo teams during intros. Ever gone to a raiders-Chiefs game? The raiders get booed as they come on the field... It's sports

This quote is from the ILST fan message board about their game at San Diego St. It is an excellent example of creativity and organization by a student section.

I would have had a very hard time dealing with the SDSU crowd. The crowd definitely was the key factor in winning the game. Each time the ball was brought up the floor...the crowd kicked in with this "whipped a will" bird calling....and it drove me insane.

Fill the first 10 rows with a bunch of hotties and Adonises. None of this middle age or mid-to-late 20's hanger-ons anywhere near the front. Sex sells with student recruitment.

All the student tickets must not have been picked up. Because they opened them up as general admission Thursday. I got three. So our Saturday will be lunch on campus and then an hour early to the game to get good seats and watch warmups.

If you want to eat at the Shocker Hall Dining Hall, I think it is only open from 11 am to 1 pm on weekends. It is pretty good for the price, around $8 I think, lots of choices and all you want. Far better than the dorm food in my day!
