Huh? If you're talking about the audio system, then I 100% agree.

We were without Fred the entire game. We had 14 players play at least 8 minutes. There were tons of newcomers. Tons of different lineups.

I dunno what you're expecting from a first-time exhibition? Can you please elaborate?

Marshall said after the game that we'll see if any of the freshman want to redshirt. Sounds like with Nuger redshirting, forced redshirts aren't being considered.

Had to come up to Wisconsin for a funeral. Did someone say this was on Cox 22? Maybe a replay when I get back?

Obviously it is early, but Grady looks like he could take this team to another level. He looks like the real deal in the post. He looks like a presence down low that the other team will actually have to game plan for. Add in the continued development of Kelly, Morris, and Wamakota plus adding freshmen Hamilton and Mcduffie and great Scott, we may actually have a formidable front court! Exciting times

He's definitely too quick on the trigger. He made the shots tonight which is nice. If that happens consistently, I'm all for it. But if those shots don't fall, he better get used to some bench time.

You can watch a replay on ESPN3. They usually have it up within a few hours.

Agree. It's nice to have a big guy who can shoot free throws too. Very solid.

McDuffie really impressed me also. You can tell he's a next-level potential. He made some sick passes late and brings a lot of energy into the game. He's gonna be stud soon enough. Shamet also has that look. He just looks like a natural. Has a lot of Fred and Ron in him. Very calm and under control for a freshman.

I think when we start to get the rotation settled, this team has a lot of big-time potential. Friday night can't come soon enough.

Oh and whoever said Wamakota made big strides. I would request what "big strides" means. His minutes will be limited again.

                      • Grady will be our answer, plus some in replacing Carter. Shamet is so versatile, he can play any guard position. As good as Taylor played...he won't play much after FVV gets back and Conner becomes eligible. McDuffie is so skilled, he will give opponents fits over the next four years. Hamilton is going to be scary good not too far down the road. The returners are better and this year is going to be another special edition of Shocker basketball.

                        • Grady was the shot in the arm we really needed. MM made a sweet pass and I like his game. Shamet will play his fair share of minutes. Coach was not happy with our rebounding today and that will be dealt with. Brown was taking it to the rack and we need that. Barney might redshirt with foot problems but he sure looked good out there tonight as he did in the summer. Nurger is sounding like he will redshirt.

We are so deep which will come in mighty handy with a tougher schedule and the new rules which could increase foul problem issues at times with most teams. Just think, FVV, Baker, and our Coaching Staff are all back when they all considered moving on. This will indeed be a Season to remember!!!!!!! We are blessed.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

                          • Not a good start to the game but didn't take the Shocks long to get things under control.

Anton Grady looks like the real deal.

Ron didn't have a stellar game. Had trouble finishing early. Allowed the man he was guarding to drive past him on 2 or 3 occasions. However, not really worried about Ron.

6 Shockers knocked down treys and Ron was not one of them and Fred and Conner were on the bench.

26 of 31 (83.9%) from the line was nice.

Generally thought the Shocks defense with the new rules was good.

Ty Taylor and Eric Hamilton exceeded my expectations.

Weight room work seems to be yielding some visible results from Zach Bush.

Brett Barney looks like he might have some skills. 3G said Brett may choose to redshirt.

We certainly are loaded with athletes. Should wear more than a few opponents down.

                            • I would say that a redshirt may still be in play for Taylor. HCGM has already said that Frankamp will be in the rotation when he is eligible. He said tonight that he want sure what the Frosh players will decide.

They must have meant it literally. He does tend to make very big strides as he moves around. Perhaps we, on Shockernet, just didn't understand the statement :)
