I always enjoy listening to the Coach, he always gives a great interview. Great way to get primed for the up-coming season. As far as his take on Conner being the best shooter he's seen as a in 31 yrs... I'll take him at his word, he usually doesn't give in to hyper-hole. He was also talking about the athletic ability of Shamet, and McDuffie. From what I have read McDuffie just turned 18, and at 6'8 is still growing...Marshall said he's a poor mans Kevin Durant, I'll take it..can't wait to get this season rolling....I hope it goes at a snails pace, going to be sad thinking its Fred, Rons and Evans last year. But im excited for the new guys we have and the ones we have coming in...

Gregg starts around the 26:15 mark.

I compiled a few of Gregg's quotes at http://shockerhoops.net/index.php/20...eth-greenberg/ if you're wanting the quick hits.

It's a great interview, candid as ever, great info on the new guys. Rashard being most improved. Conner the best shooter he's been around in 31 years of coaching.
        Very nice.

        Thanks.

But he went on to be pretty good as a sophomore, leading the nation in rebounding and scoring a little as well. Never did learn to shoot FT's very well in college, but he was still a fairly useful player.

I'm not going to ask Kelly to channel X's attitude, which was a big part of what made him X, but whenever I see a talented, athletic freshman with some size struggle a bit with the Shocks, I always hark back to those days.
I remember a preseason interview with "Clean Gene" where he was asked about his Frosh, the X-man, and he said, "It's gonna be real hard to keep him off the court." This with the bookends in front of him! Gave an indication of how deep that team was; makes me even MORE excited about the depth of THIS team!

coach handles his job in the same way he gets his players to play, superior in every aspect. That interview is just another in a million examples.

It is music to my ears to hear that Kelly is working so hard on his shot and getting stronger. He made 2 huge shots last Season when games were on the line to help seal the deal. Also, Carl Hall worked extra hard the summer before his Senior Season and made vast improvements in his strength, conditioning, and mid-range shot that truly helped us do so well that very Season. Carl Hall was a beast and I am excited to see Kelly and all of our bigs silence the concerns of our critics concerning our inside game this Season. Everybody understands how good our guards are but if our bigs really step up, watch out!!!!!!!

                simple observation, but very true.

he doesn't ask anything from them that he himself doesnt do- hard work involved, yes, but he seems good and fair to them also. the taste of success makes everything sweeter, i guess.

i want to see the frontline pull some surprises too, forevershockerfan. i'm really holding my breath, looking forward to a shocker-irish rematch (fingers crossed). that auguste guy needs to get hit early and often, to use football speak.

Coach Marshall indeed handles himself in a professional way that makes us all proud. We have such depth this Season, even with our bigs. I think back to our Final 4 Season. Remember, that was the Season we were selected to place 4th in the Valley race. FVV was a rotation player as a Freshman that Season and really came on strong with awesome play off the bench late that Season and had some huge moments at the Dance including his dagger 25' shot versus the Zags. He accepted his role and waited his turn to shine. Now Baker and FVV are Pre-Season All Americans. Players work hard here, develop into improved players, and execute their roles in the confines of the needs of our teamplay. This explains why our 3 and 4 star players defeat our foes 4 and 5 star players.

I had forgotten we were picked fourth in our final four year. Creighton had McDermott, Eschenique, Gibbs, and the tall dude that shot threes. They ended up winning the Valley that year after we had injuries to Baker, Wessel, and Hall. As I remember back, we were of course excited about newcomers Fred, Cle, Nick, Chadrack, and Malcolm and we returned Hall. We had just lost Ragland, Kyles, Murry, Smith, and Stutz...my goodness! Williams was okay, but Tekele and Evan hadn't done anything yet and all the shine of EO was gone.
