This argument isn't even taken seriously anymore amoung most adults.. Wsu ownes Ku in the Ncaa tournament. There's no way to dispute it. Wsu is forced to schedule some weak teams because P-5 teams like Ku don't want to be on the Wsu schedule. There's no way to dispute it.
Wsu made noise before this recruiting class and is paving the way to make more noise after everyone graduates, there's no disputing it.. What will it take for Wsu to get over the hump? After this latest tourney run, they might already feel they are over them hump. More size and experience would also help.

We were better then them last year, we both should be better this year, but still your argument is awful.
Thanks for correcting me. I bow down to you.

Ron was a major factor in the final four run. Fred was a factor but not a major contributor then. My argument is not awful. It's still valid. Now back off my nuts.

But i do agree that luck is the missing piece. Like a walk on hitting clutch three pointers when we are down 10 (Louisville). Or maybe banking in three pointers when we are desperately needing something to fall (Kentucky). Or just get crazy hot for our toughest games (Notre Dame).

Crazy to think that's the missing piece.
You just had to bring that heart breaker up in conversation. I still think about the circumstance of that possession.

        Truly it was a dagger.

I'll quote this because I can't like it. I feel the same. And I HATE it.

I watched the WSU/KU game again a few weeks ago. I wanted to watch it to see just what WSU did that made the final result so non-competitive. I wasn't watching that way when I watched the game live.

As I watched, I saw the gimmick WSU used that was KU's undoing. WSU outplayed KU in every aspect of the game for about 90% of the game. For most of the game, WSU just steadily extended the lead. It actually looked like KU just gave up somewhere in the second half. They played without any real heart, drive, or emotion. It was like they knew that nothing they could do was going to change the inevitable outcome. KU was a beaten team well before the game was over.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Evan's 3's were the killers. They didn't plan on him being able to score.

Bill Self face expression were the best in the 2nd half. Just looking at his players during the time outs like WTF

I think Evan's 3's were big, but I don't think they alone were the killers. They did lead to some serious head scratching and frustration for KU, but so did our defense, and rebounding, and scoring, and....everything else. Yes, if I had to pick one play that broke the spirit of the opposition, it would probably be one of Evan's 3s or the Zach Brown steal and dunk or FVV punking Perry, but we were just the dominant team all around.

Their coaching staff and team had the WTF look on their faces on Selection Sunday and all the way up until the game against Wsu was over.

Indeed it was, but remember that WSU got back within one in the late going on a desperation three from Baker that I'm pretty sure Ron didn't call either (he was too busy trying to sell the ref on a foul to go for a four-point play).

Anyway, there were too many things that went wrong that day to focus on just ne tough break: Cle's missed dunk on the perfectly respectable lob, the Wiggins/Wessel FT misadventures, and of course the questionable charge on FVV that sent him to the bench and was probably the biggest individual dagger in the game, courtesy of a ref instead of Kentucky.

I often watch the WSU-UK game on Youtube. I turn it off after the first half. Too painful.

You've gotten twenty minutes farther than me. I know it was a great game.. but I just can't force myself to relive it.

When Coach Self started burning time outs early in the second half along with the tell tale body language of the coach and players, I knew there was deep trouble in red and blue roosterland. Plus #3 was burning the nets.
