I have zero idea if LSU will have anything worth bringing to the table for a tournament in 2016. The other side of that coin, I KNOW I don't want to see the RPI crusher known as DePaul again.
"You Don't Have to Play a Perfect Game. Your Best is Good Enough."
I'm excited for this because it'll be a reloading year -- because we don't have down years anymore -- and the guys will have no pressure and will enjoy the chance to step up and show WSU is still a force even after losing the seniors. What better way to start a year than to shock some perennial basketball powers and relax on the beach.
So if we win "The Battle for Atlantis," do we get to keep it? If so, for how long? And finally, what do we do with an mythical undersea continent anyway? Just not sure it's worth all the effort.
I just hope it doesn't end up being some useless Power5 bottom dweller. Even if it is, I'd still be extremely happy with the field. Could be a HUGE early season RPI/rankings boost, specially considering we will probably be somewhat undervalued after having 5 players graduate, including 2 of history's greatest Shockers.
Losing Baker, FVV, etc. the same Season will be a tough task indeed that Season. However, I am really hoping players such as Brown, Kelly, Shaq, Frankamp, and our very talented incoming recruiting Class really develop through this Season. Now along with that, if we were to happen to sign Issac for this or next Season, along with an anticipated really solid incoming recruiting Class for 2016, we may be able and ready to reload, rock and let it roll by the time we reach this impressive Tourney.
Even so, this up and coming Season could very well be an epic one. I really like our Senior leadership, quality depth, and experience we bring to the table. We will rebound better this Season and will have more consistent shooting and scoring IMO than last Season. Just imagine FVV penetrating with the option to kick it to Baker in one corner--or Frankamp in the other for a 3, or just alley it to Shaq or Grady for the rim shaking slam? What if our team defense really amps up as we deem as very possible too? Now let's just speculate that we bring Coach Jan's back in the mix soon to assist in keeping us prepared. Could these factors all prepare us for dancing into April leading to the "perfect black and yellow storm?"
With so many talented young players added to our mix for this Season, that could really pay dividends at the Dance when it matters the most which could also springboard us the following Season right into this solid Tourney. Now such feats would ShockdaWorld I say for sure, and for sure!!! I am a man of few words so I must book for now. Tsk, tsk, tsk!!!
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
Depaul is playing in the Paradise Jam this year along with Indiana State according to their website. Mayhap they'll start following them around instead of WSU?
I don't see a time zone on the graphic. Are the game times an hour earlier here? My Go Shockers calendar says LSU Wednesday at 11:00 our time. It'll be very important that I arrange my Thanksgiving cooking in a way that does not interfere.
