  • 2016 Battle 4 Atlantis Lineup Announced

Don't know if this has been posted but looks like a solid lineup for the B4A.

Just waiting for DePaul and Alabama to be added to the list...

In all seriousness, that's a great line up so far! Should be fun

"Battle for Atlantis in 2016 will also include Baylor, source told ESPN. So, we’ve got Louisville, Michigan State, VCU, Wichita, St. John’s"

Good grief. I want to win this tournament so bad already.

Throw in FGCU and we now know 7 of the 8 teams. One left to be named.

It should be either an SEC or a Pac 12 team. I would be absolutely ecstatic with either Arizona or Kentucky.

My logical guesses by looking at which teams from those conferences have played in the Bahamas in 2013-2015 or who are already committed to other MTE's in 2016 would be either Arizona or Utah out of the Pac 12 and either Kentucky or Missouri out of the SEC.

I'm really hoping the tournament organizers made some type of deal with Florida Gulf Coast and that they are out and we get a team from both the SEC and the Pac 12 but that's probably wishful thinking.

I just hope it doesn't end up being some useless Power5 bottom dweller. Even if it is, I'd still be extremely happy with the field. Could be a HUGE early season RPI/rankings boost, specially considering we will probably be somewhat undervalued after having 5 players graduate, including 2 of history's greatest Shockers.

It will be interesting to see where VCU's program goes with the loss of Shaka. I get that Wade has the Smart pedigree and appears to be a good coach in his own right, but that may not translate right away. Nevertheless, I like the lineup and agree with Shockda, winning this tournament will have a huge impact on our RPI.

I kind of get the same feeling from St. John's and FGCU. Don't really have any idea where those programs will be, but we know the others will continue to be contenders (or at least relatively close to it).

Shaping up to be the best MTE we've been in BY FAR, at least in my memory.

There will be NCAA tournament teams with a loss or even two in this tournament.

We better find a big man, who can play.
