    15 per ncaa rules

Not so sure our all time walk on team would be playing Thursday. Start the team with Malcolm, Ron, Conner, Zach B and Brett Barney. Throw in Jared, JRS and a couple of bigs from the fraternities and I'm sure 3G would avoid Thursday.

Yeah, but who is going to guard McDermott?

I admire your faith in HCGM but if Trent Barney is playing the 5, we might have problems. Brett would be a better fit there. :)

I hadn't heard about Brett Barney yet as far as I know (terrible memory). I have been somewhat close with the Barney family in the past and that is awesome!

Brett Barney is still another Shocker player that can drain the 3. Last Season was one where our defense had to save the day in some games and our rebounding margin advantage was not what it has been in past Seasons. Some games we did not shoot the rock as well as I envision us doing so in more consistent fashion this very Season.

As we ponder our players returning along with our new players, we for sure have addressed these areas. We have sharpshooters, quality depth, rebounders, athletes, and scorers to start and finish games. Yes, and our defense will still be scary good. Now if we were to happen to land Issac for this Season, that will be black and yellow icing on the Shocker cake that SI and our foes will have to deal with and digest.

Now for you dreamers, let's imagine us with Issac as we are marching forward at the Dance. I could see us starting the game with FVV, Baker, Wessel, Grady and Issac. Just for fun to finish such a game we could have FVV, Frankamp, Baker, Grady, and Shaq. Yes, I am getting way ahead of myself in the scheme of things, but we do such things on SN in the summer as we await another Season that will be finer than a frog-hair.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Lots to cuss and discuss, indeed.

In the last four seasons, 3G has played with multiple lineups:

                    2011-12 166 lineups
                    2012-13 214
                    2013-14 126
                    2014-15 277

With the real possibility that not the same 15 guys will suit up for every game (different walk-ons), the mind game can become exhausting.

The number of combinations among 15 items taken 5 at a time is 3,003. Just considering 13 scholarship players taken 5 at a time, it is 1,287. If we had 3 players at each position with no crossover between positions, it is 243 combinations.

I don't know if I'll have the opportunity to see any pickup games this summer, but since I haven't seen any of the newcomers, I'm not going to make any prediction except that Fred, Ron and Evan will start the first game.

Bottom line, is it November yet?

As we are dreaming, if we start the game with FVV, RB, EW, AG, and IH; let's finish the game with TT, LS, ZB, EH and MM. Of course, CF, RS and SM have played significant minutes.

I'm pretty confident our walk-ons would not finish last this year. It's theoretically possible they could hit 7th depending on how bad Bradley and MoSt are.

                        Avoiding Thursday wouldn't happen.

This could be the toughest Season ever for our very talented Freshmen Class to break into the active player rotation. With that said, who will? We have 2 top 100 players in MM and LS. However, TT can jump out of the gym and should also be mentioned in the mix of top 100 players whether the experts placed him there or not. There is this player named Baker that defied the law-of-averages and is now known about everywhere by all that follow Div.-1 basketball fans. Add to that list Mr. Hamilton who will also be here and you have oodles of possibilities.

I'm wondering if a player will evolve this very Season to be our starting point guard next Season when FVV graduates? Is Conner going to be more of a 1 or 2 or a combo for us? He keeps his turnovers down to a mild roar and if our foes dare lay off him, he can drain the J from far far away. Is Taylor or LS a 1 or 2? Taylor broke all the former NBA Pro's records in high school as he said he would and jumps sky high. LS won the Mo. dunk contest and for sure is a keeper. I like what I see before I have seen this all play-out in person. I'm hoping to begin to process these queries and other questions on my lil pea-brain this summer in July when they start up some scrimmages.

Since we do some reverie at times like this, could this end up being 3G's best recruiting class here ever? If we were to actually Sign Issac for this Season, I would say yes without hesitation with no qualms. If this even happens for the following Season, it is still all good. Any way you shake it, Shocker basketball is what we dig and I really like what I see in our future which just keeps getting better because our Program is a proven success and evolving in positive fashion which is more dependable than just dreaming.

I'm guessing that if we were to get Isaac, then we'd end up losing one of our incoming recruits. Either that or Evan would decide to leave. For just these reason, I don't see Isaac here next year.

I have idea how the situation would play out.
