all but 1 class (the smith/orukpe/ragland call) has had at least 1 player leave the program, several classes had multiple defections. Hope this isn't the case with this upcoming class.

Fred and Cle in the same class, now that's a winner to me. Ron's class is right there too.

Which players from the earlier classes would not even be recruited by Marshall today?

This had to be the worst class (aside from DW)...

                2009-10 (The 75% transfer class)

Demetric Williams - WSU (Sr. Year - Final 4)

Kenny Manigault - NAIA Division I - University of Pikeville

Jerome Hamilton - Division II - Albany State

Tyler Richardson - Couldn't find any info

edit: Tyler Richardson - Divistion II - North Alabama (thanks calfan)

Maybe I wasn't looking in the right place, but I found zero, zip, nadda on Tyler Richardson. Did he just disappear after he transferred? Must have transferred to a YMCA team or something...

Honestly, from a recruiting perspective, those were really good late adds. Hawkins was good, but didn't fit Marshall's system. Mantas was injured, or he would have been quite the coup. Ellis was a 3* P5 decommit.

Tyler Richardson was really the only head scratcher from a talent perspective, and even he was okay.

Tyler Richardson went to North Alabama.

The University of North Alabama men's basketball team has rounded out its recruiting class for its 2011-12 roster. UNA head coach Bobby Champagne has announced that four true freshmen will join sophomore transfer Tyler Richardson, who played most recently at Wichita State University.

Tyler Richardson also finished with a season-high 11 points for UNA.
Four GSC men's basketball squads remain undefeated early in the 2011-12 campaign.  Christian Brothers, North Alabama and West Georgia enter this week at 4-0, while No. 2 Alabama-Huntsville is 3-0.

Ellis was supposed to go to South Carolina but they would not admit him.

I hope the better class is 15-16 with the best yet to come. Those lists include the top two all-time winnings Shockers, NIT Champions, undefeated seasons, Sweet 16's, a Final Four, the all-time assist leader, some players with NBA experience and players who made their coach the National Coach of the Year.
