  • Post Season Awards & Celebration - April 16 - Koch Arena

The 2014-15 post season awards & celebration ceremony is schedule for Thursday, April 16th at 7:00 pm in Koch Arena.

WSU will holds its annual men's basketball postseason celebration at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 16 inside Charles Koch Arena.

I think it is important that we do not take this team and Coach Marshall for granted. A great opportunity to say final thanks and bon voyage to Tekele and Darius and a chance to show Fred and Ron how much they are loved.

In addition, it is an opportunity to show Coach Marshall that he made the right decision in staying at Wichita State.

    Go Shocks!

I know it is not realistic but with all this team accomplished, and with everything the last 5 years it would be nice to pack the arena

Last year the Celebration was held on April 24th. I estimated the crowd at 2,500. The Wichita Eagle reported about 1,500.

I recall correctly they only announced the celebration about 4 days in advance and the promotional efforts were minimal.

Believe me 5,000 would be an outstanding turnout for this event. Not sure how we get the students motivated to show up.

Anyone know why they never do very much promoting for events like this?

Ill be on campus because I have a test but I have to bust ass to my sons baseball game.

Im sure the team will understand.

A good goal would be more people attend than an Alabama home game.

This is completely doable but I'm not sure we should be aiming that low. :)

Economics no doubt. Spending money on a non-revenue generating event. But there are inexpensive things they can do. An e-mail campaign to all Shocker season ticket holders of any sport, alumni association members and students should not be overly costly.

I remember that as well. There wasn't very much notice. This time with a good 10 days notice, hopefully we can double the amount of about 2500 like you said. I will be attending and will spread the word as best I can.

I, once again, have not heard much (not anything actually) about this on the news. Where is our PR department? Shouldn't they be on this all week?

Not sure if you're on twitter but there's been a steady stream of reminders coming from WSU.
