    don't know our rpi from that year, but we were ranked 25 in kenpom. the next lower kenpom ranked team to be left out of the tourney was new mexico, kenpom #44.
    losing to vcu at home in the bracket buster was a killer for our ncaa chances.

      In hindsight, that led to the rise of Shaka, which led to schools wanting him, which led in interest from Texas in him instead of Marshall.

      Everything worked out well in the end :)

        My boys and I watched the second half of that game against Alabama the other day. That team was playing lights out at the time. Definitely a sweet 16 caliber team. Very solid team all the way around.
