This had the potential to be an interesting thread.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

Wait, we have articles that say Gregg has been quoted telling schools to back off AND saying he's and a I quote "after another"? Please link me to these articles. I have not seen anything that Gregg has said that you have said.

How come Shaq's still on the team? What's your insider telling you with that one?
Fever, while I agree that what'if discussions only get folks more worked up than they already are, I do believe discussions of GM leaving are warranted at this point and not premature. Why? Because GM has not held a press conference, to go on the record and unequivocally deny that he is leaving Wichita State. How hard would it be for him to reach out to Bruce Heartl at KWCH and give him a 5 minute exclusive saying I'm not leaving WSU? Since he has not done this, it's not illogical to think he is pondering the decision. None of us knows if he is 5 percent inclined to stay at WSU or 95 percent sure he is leaving for Texas, but until he puts the topic to rest the what'ifs are here to stay I think.

Hypothetically, if he leaves, I will cherish the memories the team has given me over the past several years. Worry about what you can control. My plan is to live my life and react if/when something happens.

I agree that there probably doesn't need to be three threads on this.

Edit: haha, it's more like five threads discussing this in some way, and it's spreading!

How would most posters on SN have a freakin clue who is on ADES' top 3-5 list?
Until HCGM decides to leave (which might be when he retires), he remains the freakin HEAD COACH of Wichita State with a top 10 team coming back next year.
Screw Texas. BB only matters to them about 10 days a year.

Hypothetically if Marshall leaves, some new coach is going to have:

                -A LOADED team next year
                -Some private jet access
-A crap load of his games being televised on the ESPN networks
-A SWEET preseason tournament to kick things off
-Ten thousand loyal and WSU crazy fans ready to show up at each game
-Some serious jack for his wife to spend on bon-bons (if he's any good)

But that guy is going to have some SERIOUSLY big shoes to fill.

It will be a dream come true for some new coach if he's capable of running an elite program.

If ADES sets his sights too low, it will be a shame. Let's hope Elgin has another Ace in his back pocket, or the Marshall coaching tree is ripe, when the day comes that Marshall is ready to move on.

Link please. Has Texas even decided Marshall is THE guy? Has Marshall asked until next Sunday to mull it over?
People making sheet up to prove their point sounds like Baghdad Bob.

I would imagine Chris Jans, the Georgia St. coach, maybe Bobby Hurley are the types of candidates on the list

Heck, Dickie V has the best winning percentage out of the 3. That'd be a home run hire!

What I know? Nothing. What I read Marshall tells Alabama to not waste efforts has his eyes on Texas. If true what does it mean? I don't know. What I know? Nothing.

Has there ever once been a report that 3G was possibly interested in another job? I think it's perfectly acceptable to worry. This is by far the best school that's been interested in him and to know he has interest back should worry you that he's going to leave.

UCLA trumps Texas in the interest race.

Please explain how WSU will have a "LOADED" team next year. FVV and Baker will go pro if HCGM leaves, and none of the incoming recruits (Frankamp, Hamilton, McDuffie, Shamet, and Taylor) will come to WSU because they signed here because of Marshall. If Marshall is gone, why would they come to WSU?

                              Please explain.
