  • Season End Compared To Season Start

At the beginning of the season, I thought we were maybe top-10. More likely in the low teens. I was expecting to go 16-2 in league play. I also had us winning the Valley tourney.

I was expecting a S16. - just round of 32 if we got a bad matchup. I would have expected a post-season loss to KU if I had known that game would occur.

That's some pretty high expectations, but guess what. The Shox did all of that.

The end of a season always comes suddenly - if you make it to the post-season. There's every reason to love this team and be proud of what they accomplished. It would have been nice to win another game, but that's always the way it goes in post-season play.

The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

The Shockers metro surpassed all of my expectations this year except one. I expected they would be in the MVC tourney championship game. Great season!

If this team was a disappointment to anyone...well, I just don't know how it could have been. There were stretches of disappointing play, but only because we all knew what they were capable of. But as a whole, this season was yet another in a long line of seasons to be proud of. I think there was 1 loss I didn't expect, and that was GW in Hawaii. Other than that...I'm thrilled that we were taken on a ride again, this time to the S16. Next year, barring any unforeseen departures... we'll dust off that magic carpet and saddle up again. To steal a line from one of the long time posters on here 'Its a great time to be a Shocker'
-Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind-

      GO SHOX!

It was a good ride. Most of the season there was so much talk about how much we missed Cle and that we weren't as good (hard to beat perfect). We only lost 4 more games, we won the conference, lost the tourney but went farther in the NCAAs. In some ways you could say we had a btter year. We certainly overachieved, not to mention the KU victory, which is like a cherry on top of the cake.

Great year. Great run in the tournament.
All of our tournament games on CBS.
The gameday experience and then the pasting of UNI on ESPN.
Beating Indiana and KWho to make it to the (S)Wheat 16.
Great fun this year and already looking forward to next fall.
