You're right, WSU can pay more than what they will offer Gregg. I'm of the opinion raise his base pay, but not so it looks like WSU is paying a kings ransome. If he wants to leave for money, so be it. The basketball world will always have guns for hire. If he wants to be one, go for it. Want the guy who professes Wichita is a special place to coach, live and raise a family. I want to believe it's Gregg. If he's not that guy I'm not mad or even disappointed. I still think he is that guy however.

Dream scenario: Gregg stays and announces he'll retire a Shocker. He proceeds to win a national championship and gets WSU into a better conference. He offers SN'ers our own Box Office at Koch Arena, at a nice discount, and WSU gives him an angry looking statue.
Slightly more realistic, but still good: Gregg announces he'll stay. He brings in 2-3 years of strong recruiting classes and keeps WSU in the national spotlight with a couple more runs in March. Boeheim retires in 3 years, as he's on record saying he'll do, (is this around the time his daughter graduates? I'm clueless on this) and he takes the job at Syracuse to secure his name as one of the best college coaches in recent history while most of Wichita becomes a small Syracuse fan on the side.
