Lmao that’s Marshall’s wet dream. I wouldn’t be surprised if they throw every dollar at Dan Hurley (I don’t think that’ll work) or have someone special in mind.

      • UK fans who wanted Cal gone are absolutely delusional. Whoever the next coach is, it's highly unlikely he will be able to pull off a 9-year stretch like this.

        2016 - 4 seed, #5 in Torvik - Round of 32
        2017 - 2 seed, #5 in Torvik - Elite Eight
        2018 - 5 seed, #20 in Torvik - Sweet Sixteen
        2019 - 2 seed, #8 in Torvik - Elite Eight
        2020 - 4 seed (projected), #28 in Torvik
        2021 - missed tourney, #47 in Torvik
        2022 - 2 seed, #11 in Torvik - Round of 64
        2023 - 6 seed, #26 in Torvik - Round of 32
        2024 - 3 seed, #27 in Torvik - Round of 64

Maybe their next coach will work out well, but it's an uphill battle. Kentucky fans: you absolutely deserves failure for the way you treat your coaches...

they aren't paying 8.5 mil/year for these results.

Great, how many coaches in the country have achieved consistent results like that in the last ten-fifteen years? Four or five?

The Bluegrass Gentry, birthplace of Abraham Lincoln, the world's finest Bourbon, thoroughbreds that can't be beat, and the original lip smacken' fried chicken has lost their Men's Basketball coach to the...to the state where...everyone's sister is fertile and purty, William Jefferson Clinton, moonshine (that can kill you), hogs (the four legged-variety, not to be confused with the two-legged variety in Arkansas), and to a Chicken Farmer, John H. Tyson, grandson of Tyson Foods Founder, who is bank-rolling this endeavor. Well done Kentucky, well done indeed.

I think he’s underperformed for a “Blue Blood”
KU overtook UK for the most wins, and even KU (whom I consider the weakest of the BB after the Hoosiers) did better than UK.

With the amount of #1 and lottery picks they had over that time, those stats are extremely underperforming!

We weren't last, it was Mills first year not 15th.

So the question begs to be asked. As fans, what are your hopes for Shocker basketball? If you're a big donor in Lawrence, and all you got for your millions in Lawrence was disappointment, what spurs the money to keep flowing?

If there was a list of items that you could check off for men's BB, what would it include? Things like these below? I mean, a lot of fans in Kentucky don't feel like they have a good ROI. So what would make fans in Wichita happy?

                            1. Positive-Positive Wins-Loss record. Say, 27-8, not 19-14.
                            2. NCAA Tourney.
                            3. Crowds and atmosphere at Koch Arena.
                            4. Holding home court.
                            5. At least one big road win somewhere.
                            6. Winning a early season Tournament. (I thought winning the post season NIT was pretty special, actually)
                            7. Making free throws.
                            8. Having more than one player that can make 3balls.
                            9. A defensive stopper.
                            10. At least one highlight player (like Tekele)
                            What else?

I mean, Purdue seemed to have all the ingredients, but (ironically) fell short. One big man stood no chance of outscoring an entire UConn team who played together. As Yoda would say, you need balance. How many things on a list would have to be checked off so that you felt satisfied to give up your time and resources in another year?

                              • I can absolutely see why Kentucky is disgruntled after the last four years.

And Abraham Lincoln wasn't even the greatest Kentuckian of his time. Check out the life of Cassius Marcellus Clay. That man was a bad mother****er who did a lot more for America than most people know.
