Anyone that complained about Wessel being in the starting lineup this year should probably be apologizing now. What a game from that young man. When he's just out there for defense, he's a positive. When his shot is falling and he gives himself a green light, he suddenly becomes one of the most valuable players in the country.

KU is at a disadvantage when they have a bunch of athletes but not a team of basketball players. This victory is the result of HCGM's policy of team defense, mental toughness, and character players.

Totally agree. And anybody who was "hoping" he would graduate this year and give up his scholli for next year has to eat some crow. I want Evan on next year's Shox National Championship team.

Perry is an excellent BB player and I wish him all the best. But as I watched him sink free throw after free throw, the thought kept running through my mind, you could have really been a hero if you had stayed home and played for the Shockers.

I bet that thought had gone through his own head many times.

KU fans consistently scapegoat him and throw him under the bus, despite his solid play. Meanwhile Evan Wessel gets a thunderous ovation every time he makes a three in Wichita. I wonder if he would have made the same decision if he was coming out of high school now or in the last two years.

I know people want to downplay the importance of playing Kansas from the program standpoint ... but this is important for recruiting. Marshall's building a consistent winner, one that is nationally recognized as more than capable of playing with and beating the top programs in the country, and one that will put players in the NBA. Every year I'm more and more impressed with the long-term monster Marshall is building here.

His best ever recruiting class is coming in, and every game shows local recruits the difference in how Wichita players are treated at KU versus how they're treated at WSU.
