  • Yahoo - "When it comes to college athletics, it sure seems cheating pays"

Sure wish there was this MUCH leniency back in the early 80's when we had Carr, X, Levingston, Sherrod, Dreiling and company. If we had...we would probably have already had a couple National Championships banners hanging from them there rafters.

Sure, there are often penalties, but in many cases the punished schools and individuals move on to bigger and better things.

    • Connecticut’s three-year NCAA probation for men’s basketball violations ended earlier this week. Last year, while still on probation, the Huskies won the national title. The previous year, the school was ineligible for postseason play due to a deficient Academic Progress Rate. Jim Calhoun, who was the coach during both NCAA violations and the academic failings, is in the Hall of Fame.

Remember the golden rule......the man with the gold makes the rules. As someone at lunch told me today, 'The NCAA is the most crooked organization on the face of the earth.'

This guy is a friend of mine and a UT alum....

Bump this thread when the NCAA doesn't to Jack Squat to the beloved University of North Carolina and determines African American studies was indeed a certified, accredited and legitimate college course and the university, it's student athletes, athletic programs and coaches should not be held accountable on the poor teaching practices of one professor.

One quick note before we present the rankings: With Wichita State’s move to the American Athletic Conference, the Shockers have moved out of the mid-major club. We wish the Shockers well against Cincinnati, UConn, SMU, and more.
