Anyone with half a brain could tell which Gameday match up was played at a higher level. I'd go as far as to say the players in the earlier game exhibited a higher talent level when you compare true basketball skills. I'm just getting tired of P5 good losses and higher protected seeds. When KU/OU are locked in at 2/3 and WSU/UNI are 4/5 then something smells.

Half the conference is in the top 30 for defensive efficiency, but hey, let's just keep playing in our imaginary world where reality is whatever we feel like making it.

I'm totally with you on this Fev. Been watching a lot more BCS games this year...and I just don't see much to write home about from most BCS teams. No real team work and knowledge of the game. I see stoopid stoopid mistakes over and over again. They have their moments but basketball IQ not so much. A lot of times it's like watching 10 Rashard Kelly's out there. Lol

That never stopped anyone on here before.

People's eyes lie to them. Statistics such as KenPom aren't necessarily the end-all-be-all when it comes to college basketball, but they're certainly much more reliable than the eye test.

Where are you pulling your stats? Because this says you're wrong.

                        I think probably KenPom http://kenpom.com/index.php?s=RankAdjDE

                        I
am not smart enough to know where the stats come from, though. Could the Big 12 game the stats? How do you determine defensive efficiency strength in a round robin? What makes the Big 12 a strong defensive conference with 5 in the top 30 vs a conference that just has offense in the bottom 30? Is it solely based on out-of-conference games that we can measure that?

I also find some fallacy in taking anything from conference stats. If 12 teams play each other and none of them can shoot the ball, does that mean they're all good at defense, or they all suck at offense?

My guess is Top 10 in Adjusted Defensive Efficiency per KenPom. Not raw per possession stats.
