  • Now that the epic day is over...

...and time to move on to even bigger things...what are the standout things?

    I have three...

Jay Williams tearing off the shirt was epic...I don't care if it was hometown flavored...thought it was great!

Loved the post game handshakes/hugs...think both teams knew the significance of the game.

    Tekele's dunk...not going to lie...tears.

    Onward!

When Jay stuck out his chest in his Shocker shirt, I laughed. When he threw on the wig, and started flipping his head back, I belly laughed. When his partner threw on the wig I was belly laughing to the point of loud and out of control. Watching so many of our players not only hustling but executing together made me know and understand even better that they really wanted this win lots, they wanted our Seniors to go out with a win, and all of their joint work together when nobody was watching all became truly worth every second of it. Baker letting the young fan cut his part of the net was kool. She will never forget that moment as long as she lives. We have a close knit team with 8 new players that only lost 3 games all Season. WOW!!!!!!! And last but not least, it was a game that made us so proud to be Shocker fans to the point of pure happiness, laughter, and some teary moments. The array of emotions was all good and had a great story book ending. The best is yet to come.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Best part for me was the opening of Gameday with the crowd bringing the noise. I wasn't sure it would be as packed as it was. I apologize for having doubts about Shocker Nation. Then the Best part was Evan playing the game of his season. He may not be as lockdown as TC but the team is in good hands at the 3 next year. The best part was the way the team responded when UNI made a run and cut it to 4. The best part was texting with my kids and brother during and after to enjoy the whole experience. It was just the best.
One quick note before we present the rankings: With Wichita State’s move to the American Athletic Conference, the Shockers have moved out of the mid-major club. We wish the Shockers well against Cincinnati, UConn, SMU, and more.

This team / season has made grown men feel and act like little boys again.

I could not wait to get the TV turned on yesterday and was absolutely giddy up until about an hour before tip when the nervousness began to creep in.
My wife and kids thought I had gone nuts.
