I was also just thinking about this too.

We're also now at the point where we have to look at FVV's numbers relative to MVC history.

EDIT: I think I misread the MVC record book. Here's the actual MVC records for assists in a career:

      855 Anthony Manuel, Bradley, 1985-89
740 Jamar Smiley, Illinois State, 1994-98
      696 Jim Les, Bradley, 1984-86
      644 Daniel Ruffin, Bradley, 2004-08
616 Steve Reed, Indiana State, 1977-81
603 Jake Odum, Indiana State, 1977-81
      601 Jeremy Stanton, Evansville, 1997-01

So no chance FVV can take the overall MVC record, but very likely to make top five all time, with a decent chance at top four. I would think passing Jim Les would be very difficult. I'll settle for having the most this century.

Baker rebounded like a rock star in his first double double, FVV is already breaking more records and we knew the assist record would be his. FVV was patient as a Frosh and took his turn. Tonight he was sizzlin hot in the first half when we needed points because our bigs were not scoring, and then in the 2nd half, he did not shoot for a spell but did everything else. Can you imagine these 2 as Seniors?

Hark? What was that slam down noise that even rocked local doughnut shops in town? It's Kelly time and he humbly headed back down where he belonged to play the D. It was nice to see Kelly scoring today because our bigs really struggled inside all game long.

Evansville is not going to shoot it this bad against UNI. It will be very interesting to see what happens this week.

                    Our current record is 25-3.

                    Ring a bell??

The last time we were 25-3 was the 82-83 season, AC's senior year. Unfortunately, that is where the season ended because that was a very, very good team.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

Wow that was impressive , only one disappointment, when they had one of EU’s players shooting fouls there was absolutely no movement behind the backboard by the fans, Whats up with that
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kickass ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

I can't decide if this was one of the more impressive unimpressive wins I have seen or one of the more unimpressive impressive wins.

The shooting in general was poor (excepting Fred and Evan) and the free throw shooting flat out sucked.

Our defense was solid for the most part.

Perhaps the most concerning thing to come out this game was the play we got out of Darius and Shaq. Not sure we can beat UNI with that kind of effort in the post. Rashard had one of his better outings in a while though.

Congrats to Fred on the assist record. Looks like that one will be his for a long, long time by the time he is done.

Next year there will be a NCAA career assist list watch for FVV.

Doubtful. Fred could get into the top 5 in Valley history, but unless he goes completely nuts from here on out (like 10 assists per game and plays 50 more games the rest of this and next year combined) he's not going to touch the top 25. We simply don't score enough points and we need Fred to score to win.

For reference, Bobby Hurley is the all time leader at 1076. ONE THOUSAND and seventy six. He's one of 4 over 1K all time.
