Dave Phillips is in Coralville, Iowa running an Applebee's. A couple of months ago I was listening to WHO 1040 out of Des Moines (former station of Ronaldus Magnus), and Iowa announcer Gary Dolphin was interviewing the guy that came up with the Applebee's Fred "Hoiburger" and Fran McCaffery "Franwich" promotion that has been very successful there. I kept thinking, "Gee, that 'Dave' guy's voice sounds familiar." At the end of the interview Dolphin started talking about how 'Dave' is a big KU fan and can't stop talking about his Jayhawks.
