I'm not sure how much it helps our case besides knowing about the plight of a non power conference school , but I would be surprised if he has to recuse himself. He no longer is employed at the school.

If he was still at WSU, yes. Since he is no longer associated with WSU I doubt he would have to recuse himself. Most of these ADs and conference commissioners have past associations with multiple schools and conferences. To recuse themselves because of past associations would seem extreme.
