At some point you got to allow the youngsters to make a few mistakes. Hard to play loose with one eye on the bench.
Loosen the rope a little bit.

Improved execution is what we would be hopping for.

And play zone when your bigs are getting owned inside.

They'll need to start making good plays, when given a chance. If they do, they will get some run.

I think a 'Problem' is that Coach Marshall almost has too many good options , and not all of them can ever hit the floor at the same time.He has said he does not recruit bench warmers, which I TOTALLY think is smart, but it might hinder the growth through playing pain that sometimes is needed.

I know they are freshmen/newcomers, but more often than not, they don't seem to bring much of anything to the table. It seems most of them are just warm bodies giving the starters a rest (except Shaq recently and RK earlier in the season). It seems they defer everything to the starters. I'd like to see more of them being aggressive with shots, rebounds, or anything to add value to their time in the game. Again, not dogging them because I know they are still learning the way.

Wow...didn't see that original comment coming. Every time a knucklehead says something stupid like this, it just validates their inability to discuss an issue. I hope your next post has some real value to it mattdalt.

I have been concerned about bench scoring for awhile. I thought the freshmen might come along a little faster.

In the last six games, Zach is 1-8 in 60 minutes of play.

In the last six games, Rashard is 4-9 in 72 minutes of play. In four of the games, Rashard was 0-2 in 40 minutes of play.

In the UNI game, the Cats had 24 points from the bench. "Look at me" Washpun had 16 of the points for the Cats. The Shocks had 7 points with 6 by Shaq.

No, I am not cherry picking to prove a point. The selected data was chosen arbitrarily. Perhaps a better way of judging freshman performance is by trend line analysis, but I am not smart enough in chart building in Excel to prepare a presentation document. On the other hand, it would be right up SB Shocker's alley.

This is my thing too. I was really looking forward to this year's class. I still believe in them, but I thought more would be stepping up by this point.

Why not include the only highly paid expert in the discussion? You are advocating for a strategic move in a game situation, yet you refuse to ask the only person getting paid to consider such moves. Strap on a pair, call or tweet your question, or realize your "discussion" is just throwing around baseless opinion.

UNI would be a tough team to play a zone against because they have too many shooters.

Yea, that would be the downside, no doubt, but dang it was painful watching Tuttle just destroy our bigs down low without help.
