  • WSU VERSUS LOYOLA PREDICTIONS AND PREGAME DISCUSSIONS

Here's the deal. Our beloved Shocks are playing well right now and will keep improving. The X factor player that could continue to make a positive impact is the "The Rock of Shaq-Braltar. When that bulldawg ran into the Great Wall Of Shaq, it made my own teeth chatter. Maybe that is how we should have taught Jake White to take a charge? Now the X factor for the Shocks team efforts could be our stingy defense that will continue improving. We were in so many passing lanes versus the Bulldogs I thought the police were going halt the game to hand out some moving violation tickets.

Loyola now comes knocking at our door and the Shocks will answer it with a 22 point win to give us a 9-0 Valley record on the front 9. Loyola was picked last by some and have done better than expected and have some fine players. However, going down memory lane in the 1965-66 Season when Loyola was ranked 3rd in the Country, we still beat them here. Winning against the Shocks at 21st and Hillside is harder than pulling hens teeth even more so "in the here and now." FVV will set an assist record with 11 in this game and Baker will swish 7-3-pointers. We will not look past Loyola and will come in as prepared and as focused as ever. They deserve our full attention.

    BOHICA Ramblers.

Something has clicked with this squad. It is like they are collectively Mario after he jumps on a mushroom. A switch has been thrown and they are now bigger, stronger, and faster than the team they were earlier in the year.

I can't deny that I'm concerned about Darius' back. Perhaps I'm just projecting my own back issues on to Darius. Looking forward to hearing a report on Darius on 3G's radio show tomorrow night. Hopefully, nothing serious or chronic. The advantage Darius has is he is young and in great shape.

If the old adage is true that "the best thing about Freshmen is that they become Sophomores," is true, we will be in for a treat for the next 2 years. However, thinking back on FVV as a Frosh., his best moments were later in the Season and the Dance.. While he was not a starter, he really came on strong for us as a key reserve. Likewise, we have some key Frosh this Season that will possibly be playing like Sophs. as we continue on this Season. They may not start games but may help us finish some with wins. Kelly made a huge big winning shot for us recently. Shaq has been improving. I still like Nurger, Henderson, Ria'n, and Brown. Juco players Glass and Bush will continue to develop. I like what I see and am glad we are on a roll so we can distribute the minutes more as we continue to develop our quality depth which is a trademark for Coach Marshall teams. Maybe we can grow as a team and improve with this Loyola game and get ready for our back 9 Valley Games.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

If Milton Doyle is not playing I look for this to be much like the drake game. Lots of playing time for the young uns.
