Yeah the Ogiri situation shows how important team chemistry is. Even though it didn't involve the coach disciplining him. Just goes to show...

This situation is regrettable and is bad for the Valley but especially MSU. I hope the Shocks are able to capitalize and bury the Bears in Springfield.

Nah I was thinking a Sun Belt standout could transfer to a horizon league school with minimal bumps and bruises.

I've watched MM several times over the past few years. IMO, he is incredibly talented but doesn't buy into the team concept. He jacks up shots from anywhere - anytime - maybe his coach tells him to do that.

MSU, when MM is on the floor, reminds me of a YMCA team with a guy who doesn't acknowledge that he has other players on his team and shoots pretty much whenever he touches the ball. I'm probably over stating that a little but he goes one on one a lot and puts up a ton of shots while closely guarded.

MSU may be better off without MM.

Not a big deal with MSU fans. After all MSU is a football school, don't you know.

Purely from the BB side, don't you believe that any kid who is shooting 45.9% from the field, 45.6% from three and nearly 90 percent from the charity stripe over 14 games clearly would have a green light (even from 3G) to shoot the ball virtually whenever?

Gee, if they're a football school, what must Illinois State be -- the Normals actually played for a national championship (losing to another "MVC Football" school, by the way).

And FCS Champ North Dakota State's only loss of the season was yet to one of the other MVC schools. But that was not MSU as hard as that is to believe.

I don't disagree with this. He has been yanked a couple of times for not playing defense after a poor shot selection - I doubt that 3G would put up with that.

If you read the bear forum - there is a lot of criticism of Lusk offense - or lack there of. There is a lot of standing around and watching MM. I don't think that MM buys into the offense. They actually played well last night without MM.

It's been said that MM's attitude is that he's bigger/better than the MSU program - which might be true - but someone with that attitude can be a cancer to a program.

I would not want him at WSU.

If you have ever played on a team with a very talented "ball hog" you can understand why they played better without him. They were relieved and energized by the fact that they were going to be able to play basketball instead of watch it.

There were some posts on the Bears board that credited Marcus Marshall with a public statement that was more or less, "I don't need to listen to no mouth telling me I got to play defense".

...don't you believe that any kid who is shooting 45.9% from the field, 45.6% from three and nearly 90 percent from the charity stripe over 14 games clearly would have a green light (even from 3G) to shoot the ball virtually whenever?
There are a number of things, other than a green light from anywhere, that Marshall (3G) would give Marshall (MM) if MM were playing for 3G.
