It would seem logical ShockerPrez and DJ06Shocker have Johnson issues. They say there are 12 step programs for everything.

Giacolleti did this in kind of a weird way. He said that Ill. St. has better talent, not that Drake does. Maybe he thought the Shockers would punish the Redbirds instead of Drake. I say both!

I think he was probably responding to a redbird beat writer.... Asking how good was ISUr after the beat down. In that context is a stupid thing to say, but it isn't crazy as I think HCGM had said something similar earlier this season.

When I watch this year'a ISUr squad I can't believe they aren't better. Must be the coach.

Maybe Drake's HC said those things because ISUr beat Drake by 30+ and we did by less than 10 ... Jmo

            Scoreboard comparing?

So since we beat Tulsa by 20, and Tulsa won at Temple by 7, and Temple beat KU by 25, then clearly we're more talented 1-12 than KU.
            Deuces Valley.
            ... No really, deuces.

With that ability to evaluate talent, it's not surprising that Drake is 2-13 on the season, 0-4 in the Valley, and has an rpi of 251.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

I can't figure it out. Apparently Mark Few was the brains behind the operation at Gonzaga after all. We've got Chris Jans tearing it up with an immediate top 100 team in his first year at BGSU and then you've got Drake running away with last place and a coach making statements likes this...

I had been thinking he and Jans would have a lot in common.

I did not hear about this. What did coach say?

I'm not scoreboard comparing, that would be Ray now wouldn't it? I was just bringing up that point, he might be using those two games because he actually coached in them, firsthand. So he might have a little perspective on the subject. Who knows why he said that, it's asanine at best, maybe just for print & msg boards, such as these

I think it was a very clever attempt to take a shot at Illinois State's coach and compliment GM.

Marshall's smart enough not to try to run it up with the starters against Drake, because in the long run it doesn't help anything. If the Shocks are cruising, as I anticipate they will, it'll be a good opportunity to get some extra time for the young guys who are trying to work their way into the system, as well as to rest some of WSU's undertalented top guns. Plus, it shields the starters from injury. That's not class, it's just intelligence.

Having said that, I also wouldn't be surprised to see less time for the walk-ons and more regular basketball from the bench, including aggressive defense and trying to score right down to the end, because it's that kind of stuff -- playing real Shocker basketball and not treating the closing minutes as garbage time -- that will continue to make the bench guys better. which is what you need with eight new players. That's just intelligence, too, and I'll be perfectly happy to see it happen if the game goes as I suspect it will.

Jeeze, fellas. We're all idiots. We took it 100% out of context. He meant they are more talented DANCERS and SINGERS through positions 1-12. And, before questioning his credibility, watch Drake kill it on the dance floor (as if you haven't seen it and laughed yourself into tears already). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UrVD4MwQP4

We should play the "All about that Drake" video during their team starting lineups. It's more embarrassing than getting beat by 30.
