They're going to be in for a big effing surprise.

We have youth getting better. Our team will be better.

That was annoying, but I thought Gaudio had some interesting observations:

      - "If you could see how hard the coaches drive them in practice you understand why they are so tough."
      - This team does not have Top 10 talent, but they are definitely a Top 10 team based on their toughness and heart (paraphrased)." I assume he meant collectively as Fred and Ron are Top 10 talent, but his point does have some merit - the whole is much greater than the sum of the parts.

Credit to Hawaii coaches after reading all that team has gone through since October.
Marshall is something - loved seeing Rauno in early after being invisible for weeks and shocked at seeing JRS in the first half - figured I fell asleep or WSU had received a new building donation earlier in the day (not really - someone said it earlier - give Fred a quick break and see if JRS could at least stop headband as no one else was.)
If you take the high road, you won't find much traffic there . . .

Where is that kind of scrutiny for every other team not named Kentucky? Just sayin'....we're not, so what? We still win. A LOT.

We started the season with FIVE, that's right FIVE players with D1 experience. FIVE. Show me another team with that amount of youth. Now tell me if they're 10-1 with a single 1 point loss to a top 15 team on the road.

So far Marshall has developed a stud in waiting in Rashard Kelly. Holland can give us minutes. Nurger too in the right spot. Zach Brown is taking monster steps right now. Henderson will be a player. Yes, Big Bush, Morris and Glass have a lot of questions and not many answers. But who doesn't struggle with 11, 12 and 13? We're developing depth and still winning. Works for me.

I live and die with WSU athletics and I wasn't stressing tonight....I thought tonight was fun. I enjoyed this game as much or more than the 30 point blowout last night. That's why we play the games.

I hope all Shocker fans enjoyed tonight. Merry Christmas everyone.
Even if we had lost last night, I was VERY encouraged by the play of our new guys last night. Reminded me ALOT of the 82-83 team started 6-1 on the way to a 25-3 year. AC missed a at least 6 games with a stress fracture, and we leaned on bunch of very talented freshman, Gary Cundiff, Bernard Jackson, and Gilbert Wilburn to win a lot of games. That team was a bit star crossed and a couple of those guys did not stick around long, but what a ride that year was...

This year will be a wild ride...It will be mostly enjoyable..

        • Cotton not playing his typical defense is hurting this team too. He has to be injured with some of the D he was playing. Once that picks up again opponents will be stimied.

          • I really enjoyed the game and didn't mind the announcers; it was like listening to the Anchorman 3. I wonder if the guys had too much time with the dolphins though; they were just a fin slow on defense a few times; other times, they just laid down and smelled the flowers, allowing easy dunks or 3's. Sorry, I'm delirious on Christmas cookies.

That was a fun game to watch. Our guys were good, their guys were good, and I'm thinking it would have been a lot of fun to play basketball over there!

This is a good observation. In addition, he is not attacking the basket on offense as much which we need. Just seems to
be more tentative on both ends of the court.

They called ticky-tack fouls in some cases but let muggings go. Cotton getting hammered in the face on a drive to the basket and several over-the-back calls never got made.

Great perspective Doc. Our new guys will get better and I'm extremely encouraged by Kelly and Zach Brown. We are winning largely based on huge contributions from guys who have played 10 D1 games. We are winning despite the fact our All American backcourt has been way below par. I have to think FVV will figure it out. I have to think Baker will shoot better. I have to think Tekele will pull his head out and start playing defense, and on offense take the ball to the rack and stop jacking so many 3s.

We are winning despite not playing well. If it all comes together, look out!

Agree. They allowed the defensive player to come around/through our postup guy to steal the entry pass several times.

Same here; he has a case of #fumbleitis. Last night may have been the first time I've ever cursed TC.
