Yeah, Coach asked him if he could play and he said yes. A player like Evan will always say, yes, even when he can't. It didn't take long for Marshall to figure out that he wasn't at 100% or even 90%.

        Welcome back Evan!

His absence, from the past few games, was noticed today.

He is the catalyst of this team!

Great to see Wessel back being the glue guy. I've learned to really respect his play. Loose balls, screens. Taking charges. The guy personifies Marshalls bball philosophy.

Evan Wessel can also read a scouting report. McIntosh's eyes must have lit up when he saw Wessel was guarding him. Then he tried to drive him. By my count he tried driving on Wessel 6 times, resulting in 2 jump balls, 1 travel, 1 timeout called, and 2 missed shots. It was utter domination by scouting report and effort like I've rarely seen.

The Hawaii trip would have had a much different result if EW had been healthy, glad to have him back!

Just what I was thinking. We beat GW with Evan.

Evan is so tough, he does not have to get a drink of water before the game or at halftime. He goes to the water-jug during the game and nobody dares to question him.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

There were 2-3 times that Evan tied up McIntosh as he was trying to get up a shot (he is very crafty). This doesn't show up in the box score. He was great again on defense, he screens out his man as well as anyone,. As you said, he does all of the little things. As Gregg said, without Evan, we don't win this game. I wish we could have found out how much a difference Evan would have made in the Goerge Washington game. I think we would have won that game too.

Evan is the ultimate, clean, gutsy player whom I've never seen take a cheap shot. Gotta love him.

Marshall has commented a number of times on Wessel's defensive prowess. Cotton isn't the only Shocker who can give an opponent an "interesting" game.

WSU should take the "Play Angry" off the warmup shirts and replace it with a photo of Evan

Evan is so tough he refuses lidocaine when going to the dentist. In fact, drilling on an exposed nerve makes him deliriously happy.

Evan is so tough he doesn't shave. He plucks them out one at a time with rusty pliers and an ice pick.

He's fast, too. I'm pretty sure he peed in the Redbird's water jug after chasing that ball out of bounds.
