  • Fraud Noise Meter

Has anybody noticed that the "Noise Meter" is a dud in the way they show a metric -- time history? Please!. But the promotion is a fraud. The time history not actually matching the noise in the building it looks like it is just stock footage video. Replaying the same time history over and over again.

I think the old one was better.

Record it with your phone at the next 2 home games. With a little side by side analysis you will know very quickly if this is a fraud. The real question is, how deep does the fraud go? Despite the video evidence, is WuShock actually stopping people from leaving the arena early? What is really in that smoky substance that comes out of the tunnel? Is "Find Wu" just a fun game, or a way of distracting the masses from what's actually going on?

Get on this now detective SB Shock!! God only knows how deep this fraud runs...

I know actually made money on this one as now there is a sponsor for the sound meter. So weather the bands are accurate or not it gets the job done and it gets the crowd to scream while raising money for the program. I'd say thats the definition of success in my book!

The real shame is that they are finally using it correctly. They have fired up the noise "meter" every time the opponent has called a TO to stop a run. Perfect timing to try to keep the crowd standing and in it. Now they just need to spend 45 minutes downloading a real meter.

Freakin' french fries. Are you just now catching up? I've been shouting from the mountain top for at least a week about this, and my Paul Revere moment has fallen on deaf ears.

                  No.

                  It is a major fail.

Since we've had a real, functioning one in the past, I'm not sure what is so difficult about adding a sponsor logo to the prior utility. Besides, the new, non-functional one looks like a pastel color pallete threw up on the video board.

Agreed. It can't be that difficult. What I don't understand is how do we notice these things as fans but the powers of be approve it and act like it's acceptable?

I'd rather them just to put a Get Loud! or Make Noise! banners plastered on the board than the current fail they're putting out there now.

Its a known fact that one of the main reasons Marshall decided to come to WSU was the accuracy and effectiveness of the old "Shock-O-Meter". Apparently it just blew him away. Count me in the group that is now worried about our ability to keep him long term if we don't get this thing fixed.

                          pie, you're too simple-minded.

I guess we should all be content with everything and never complain about anything ever again. I mean, this is a discussion board afterall. Everybody just needs to agree with everybody and everything. The athletic department can do no wrong.

I agree with your first statement but not the rest. I believe we should all be allowed to weigh in on the biggest issues affecting WSU athletics. Which is why I voiced my concern regarding what, in my mind, may be the biggest threat to the stability of not only the men's basketball program but the university and perhaps entire city.
