Sounded good on TV. EVERY TIME No. 30 came near the ball, we could hear the students giving him the "airball" chant.

        • For comparative sake, our friends from Omaha, Nebraska have an RPI of 94, with a SOS of 209. And that was after their heart-stopping double-OT win over South Dakota.

          • This game has to rank up there with one of the worst FT shooting game witnessed in quite a while. And had it not been for Fred, it would have been even worse.

Most definitely. They commented on it several times. The color commentator said this was her first time to the Roundhouse and that she was very impressed. It definitely came across on the deuce as loud and amped up.

Not able to go to the game...previous commitment. But DVRed it...the guy announcer might have been the most boring ever...the woman not as bad...I know I bashed Dickie V., and still might, but he's IN every game.

                      • 1. Right before Baker's dunk, I thought the Roundhouse was as loud as I had ever heard it.

                        2. Pretty good chance they beat us next year at their place.

                        3. Unless that punk goes to the league this spring, and he might.

                        4. 30 on Saturday and then a combined 0-1 last night. crazy.

                        5. The officiating sucked.

                        6. We didn't get into the building in time for the tip-off. Damn.

                        7. I suppose having odd gametimes is the price of fame.

                        8. Someday Kelly is going to be very, very good.

                        9. Boxscore showed them with 4 blocks. I woulda guessed 10.

                        10. The sound meter blows.

When was the last time TWO palming calls were made in the same game? When was the last time RB misses 3/4 Tech free throws?

Other thoughts...Seton Hall is a group of pretty immature kids, but I love their swagger...love Whitehead, not even put off that much by his comment to Gregg...I was ready for a full dose of Nurger, but another game, I guess...Shaq has to drive the coaches crazy with his potential, but he CAN be a beast...and Rashard already is...love the kid.

                          Just a few TV impressions...

-Whitehead is a talented player but acted like a freshman moron. He'll fit perfectly in the League.
-FVV is not an All-American, at least at this point anyways. He's trying to do too much and trying to score too much. Last year he just took what was given to -him and made opponents play with his outstanding passing and running of the show. This year the offense seems to be more ragged, he forces up a lot of junk against taller front courts and doesn't look to pass in fast break situations. Again, I love Fred. Hopefully things start settling down for him because I miss the Fred of last year.
-Baker is a stud. Nuff said.
-Cotton is also a stud. Nuff said.
-Carter really has that mid-range baseline jumper down. That is a huge asset to have. His throwdown was legit.
-I'm really ashamed of our student section. More unused seats at the top of the arena - an arena that is announced as sold out and an arena where people who are being turned away would gladly be paying money to use those empty seats. Something's gotta change. NOW.
6:00 weeknight games might be a tad early to pull off around here. The atmosphere sucked by tip off as only about half the arena was full. That quickly filled up, but it was definitely a weird feel at the end of pregame festivities.
-Ok, I think we've had our fill of those totally awesome and original paper 3's distributed to everybody yet again. I think it's lame. I've noticed now with the last 2 games that we've had those, that whenever we drill a 3 pointer, everybody is rushing to grab their paper 3 signs and wave them in the air instead of clapping and yelling after the make. The atmosphere actually gets subdued because of these things during 3 pointer makes. Time to retire those outdated gimmicks for a while. Like forever.
Who are you and why are you making so much sense? :eagerness:

Our studs are indeed studs, although I agree that FVV is clearly not an AA. Student section is not up to par with a top notch program.

As for 6:00 being too early to pull off "around here", I think everyone has that problem. I've seen KU start at 6:00 with plenty of empty seats. I've seen the same happen to the LA Lakers on the west coast and the NY Knicks back east. It is just the nature of the timeslot relative to work schedules.
