Exactly. We got into foul trouble and went into survive-to-the-half mode. Five guys with two fouls now.

Amazing we kept the lead with how many freshmen we had to have in there. They're not going to beat us with our starting lineup in there.

As an aside I find their arena to be a great place for basketball. The camera is having the same issues as Koch arena does.

Very similar circular design. Kind of like a larger version of the Roundhouse according to family members who have been to games there

I tend to agree, Utah is doing a good job of flopping.... I mean creating fouls, and we are not. Kelly has to take that ball strong to the hole, no reason to get swatted like that.

First important minutes for Kelly and he has responded exceedingly well. Hopefully he keeps it up, because I have a feeling we're going to see him play more in the 2nd half with the foul issues.

With the exception of a bit of sloppy play and how easily that pickle roll worked over and over again for that short stretch, I'm very happy with that first half.

JH4P, you're just now figuring out that fans complain about officiating during games? I don't blame you, it gets old, fast, especially as an official myself, but it comes with the territory. I've always been of the mindset that officials don't expect teams to make every shot, get every rebound, not commit a turnover, and play perfect defense, so why should anybody expect an official to call a perfect game? It'll never happen.

Now, to the matter at hand, if we stop committing stupid fouls and start taking the ball hard to the lane, maybe we get some calls. We all knew this would be a tough game, but this is the kind of game the Shockers need. It'll get boring beating up on Valley opponents come January and February.
