No hyperbole coming from me. Your first sentence makes all the sense in the world in that KU is more relevant in March. BUT your LAST sentence (at least to me) says that Wichita St. is not more relevant than KU in March (your words) NOW.

I would argue to you that Wichita St. is NOW more relevant than KU in March. Why??? Because the last two seasons in MARCH Wichita St. was in a Final Four and lost to eventual National Champion Louisville...and last year Wichita St. lost to National Runner Up Kentucky.

What did KU do in March the last two seasons. Well.....you tell me.

P.S. - Jamar I've liked a lot of your postings over the years and even enjoyed your "devils advocacy" point of view more than probably most here on ShockerNet. I realize I'm probably nit-picking on the use of your word "NOW"...but I have to admit....I do believe based on the last two seasons...Wichita St. is and has done more in March and is more "relevant" than KU right NOW. :)

JH4P has been around here for a long time. He's not a beaker. He's a guy who is annoyed by logic fails, and that's something I can relate to. Am I a beaker because I might have pointed out the same thing, but chose not to because I knew I'd probably be attacked?

There is a lot of failed logic in this thread, in more ways than one. Maybe attempt to understand someone else's point of view before jumping all over them and throwing out the tired KU fan accusations. JH4P's posting style may ruffle some feathers, including my own, but factually and logically, I usually agree with him.

When was the last time you saw Jamar post something actually about WSU? Like comment about the team, or a game, or just a general observation? The only time he ever posts is when he sees a chance to play the "devil's advocate" and post something that he knows will generate a negative reaction. Some people would describe that as "trolling" on the board, but I'm sure there's some double-standards there. I'm serious about this. Look throughout his posting history. He never adds anything beneficial to the discussion. He just incites reactions and craves attention. He does it to the point where he'll take the time to post in a thread about how he's right all the time before making a comment about an actual WSU basketball game. When 9=10 in his world, how can anybody argue with that? He really should just stick to arguing with himself in his little blog. There, at least, he might actually have a chance at winning an argument, instead of covering his face with egg all the time (9=10).

You must be one of the most dishonest people I've ever run into. From the last 3 days, here are some of my "comments about the team, or a game, or general observations".

It is November 19th. The computer formulas are mostly worthless right now. Just ignore them for a few more weeks and things will start to shape up better.

I would be very surprised if KU doesn't fall into the teens after that performance. I know it was #1 Kentucky, but KU got smashed. The 6-12 range of teams who are still undefeated will all jump them along with possibly a team or two in the teens who had a quality win this week. I'll say #14 for my prediction.

That would possibly end up being the most hyped game in the history of college basketball!! It would be amazing to see and the media wouldn't be able to get enough of it. I bet the TV ratings would be through the roof too.

So it was an idiotic comment to explain how my "self-researched" stats were for 10 years yet I mistakenly posted that they were for 9? Admitting my mistake and explaining how it happened was an idiotic comment?

As for better coach, I don't think this is really relevant to the discussion, but you asked, so I'll answer. I think the two are neck and neck. Self has spent more time at schools with higher potential, so he has an advantage as far as NCAA Tournament results. It would be interesting to see what Marshall would have done earlier in his career if he wasn't shackled by the limitations of Winthrop. Since reaching WSU he has shown enormous potential and could be a hall-of-famer if he continues the course he is currently on. That said, I don't think Marshall automatically jumps ahead of Self. Many on this board hate KU so much they refuse to acknowledge all the impressive things Self has done in his years there. I will always believe that the streak of consecutive Big 12 Titles is one of the more impressive accomplishments in modern college basketball. Self may not have dominated every March and racked up 5 national championships, but he does have one, he has another national champtionship appearance, and his general consistency of putting top 15 teams on the court year in and year out is extremely impressive.

Marshall might pass Self one day. For now, I call it a draw.

Look, I know JH4P sometimes gets in his own way in regard to his over-analytic view of everything. That is his DNA, although he is guilty at times of poking the sleeping giant...but I 100% agree with his follow up comment of kstarheel's post. To think that if FVV's shot would have fallen would have guaranteed another 4 wins against great teams is a bit over zealous. I appreciate heel's fan hood though.
