That's B as in breakout, according to C.J. Moore of Bleacher Report, who also did the excellent story on Ron Baker that appeared today. In one of the endless stories built around lists of this or that we see at the beginning of a season, Moore compiuled his top ten candidates for breakout players this season, and #8 was none other than Darius.

I didn't check the Media Love thread yet, so my apologies if this is duplicated, but wow! Bleacher Report is absolutely head over heels with this year's Shocker players. Baker and Van Vleet are top ten; Cotton is Jason King's preseason pick for Defensive POY (not in the Valley, nationally!) and perhaps as a result is also in their top 100 at #93 -- hard not to rank a guy in the top 100 if you also propose a national accolade for him; now Carter is a top ten breakout candidate.

As others have said, this is a good time for WSU fans to set aside the future now and then, and just appreciate and truly savor the present.

Plus, those are the known quantities. People haven't even met Rian Holland yet... Or Bush, or Rauno, or R Kelly, or Corey, etc.

I spent too much time thinking about how tough our schedule will be and I think I forgot to think how tough our guys are going to be. Now I'm starting to remember.

And I love the fact that Legendarius had a really forgettable stat line in that exhibition because he might fall through the cracks in some of the early scouting by other teams. I would not advise overlooking Darius.

Thanks, 1972 -- I'll second that motion. My lightning fingers (which cause my wife, a one-time secretary, to laugh now and then when she sees me using a total of two to type) obviously got ahead of themselves, and I neglected to proofread the title. How embarrassing. I'd fix it myself if I could.

Edit: Perhaps this is God's way of chastising me for making fun of some of the exotic names we see these days. By comparison, Darius is pretty unremarkable -- and Legendarius is great as a nickname -- or at least it was until I got my hands on it.

Try this, @WSUwatcher: : Edit the post, then find the Go Advanced button, which is right next to Save. Click it. In there you should be able to change the title. If the option still isn't available, or if you're on mobile, let me know.

I think they call it Legendarius Nondexterious disease. I have a very progressive form of that myself.
