It would be hard to redshirt Henderson with the class we have coming in.

Tyrone Taylor should be ready to go early in the season after a year in prep school.

These are great problems to have.

I'm just not seeing a need to redshirt anyone this year.

Sure, you can not play them (ie "red shirt") but it would use one year of eligibility (i.e. no red shirt). I only say this because there is really no such thing as a red shirt, only that you can play in only 4 of 5 years of eligibility.

Alreadys: Holland, Morris ----- (Already RSed. Pretty much all that needs to be said.)

It's funny, that they seem like the most likely candidates this year. I also agree that Glass will ultimately be the one.
Haven't several of the natinal rags had Glass as the fifth starter?

I think we need all the bigs we can get this year. That kind of leaves Brown as the odd man out, but I liked what I saw of him on Saturday. He is long and can shoot, although might be a streak shooter. He seemed to get after it and wasn't yelled at too often.

I'm trying to think of who we might need more of in the next two years or so. I don't really see any guards getting a redshirt. Plenty of them coming in next year and we'll need Henderson to have some experience. I guess I could see Brown redshirting, but our forwards seem pretty stacked too... I guess Glass makes sense redshirting, especially if Shaq can actually contribute and not get benched for being lazy.

How about the "Grant Gibbs" redshirt? He had like four of those.

I'm sorry, that was a special "blue shirt" rule that only Creighton could invoke. It also only applied in the MVC, so they are out of luck now.

I'm getting the impression that "being lazy" is not the case or issue.

I think it's a lack of focus Shaq possesses, which leads to a lack of execution.

I think Morris redshirts...kinda weird since he already has...but I dont see JUCO players coming in to redshirt...and the other 4 are prep players and one is the backup to FVV...Ultimately I could see Henderson with the redshirt because Baker can cover FVV here and there like last year.

If Holland beats out Henderson for minutes, Henderson MIGHT redshirt. On the other hand, if Henderson beats out Holland, what's Holland going to do?

Perhaps Shaq may not play much this year, but I guarantee you he will at the very least see some floor time in mop up situations as long as he is making an adequate effort (which I think he is). If you don't want to get this kid as much experience as you possibly can while using up a year of eligibility then you might as well cut him now. Then again, who knows, Shaq might come on strong and contribute 10-12 minutes a game. Time will tell.

Doesn't sound to me like a kid who has given up on the program nor a coaching staff that has given up on the kid.
