  • To start the year, WSU will not have lost a regular season game in 623 days

We start the regular season campaign against New Mexico State, and WSU will have not lost a regular season game in 623 days or 1 year, 8 months & 13 days.

What a time to be a Shocker fan.

The only 3 losses that WSU has had since losing to Creighton to end the season in Omaha, was Creighton again in the MVC Championship game, followed by eventual National Champion, Louisville in the Final Four. Followed by an undefeated regular season, conference championship, and one game winner in the NCAA Tournament to lose to eventual National Runner-up Kentucky.

    That's insane.

A Shocker fan, who lived through the 90s, would never have even dreamed of such stuff. I know because I was there for almost every blessed game.

    Whatta post!

    Thanks, Kai!

I was right there with ya! The days of losing to Athletes First at home during preseason exhibitions are behind us, hopefully.

Since the night X and AC told the guys to PLAY ANGRY, Wichita State is 27-1 against current MVC members.

To be fair, some of those Athletes First team were pretty stacked. Hell, maybe they should've taken Creighton's spot instead of Loyola.

            as stated on my twitter

In the past 3 years I've seen the Final 4, 35-0, and now the ALCS

            What a ride indeed.

I think any span of time where your losses are two thirds against quality opponents, you're doing pretty good.

I like that subtle jab, Doc.

Well, it depends on how many losses you have.

Anyway, nice zinger, Doc -- but you may have given some drunken Jayboy troll ammunition by pointing out that half of WSU's losses since the 2013 Valley tournament began have been to Creighton. I sure wish the Shocks could end up in the same field and bracket with them somewhere now, though.

                      Final Four.

Unfortunately, for WSU to meet Creighton in the NCAA we know it would have to happen on the first weekend. Creighton fans can only dream of getting a third NCAA game -- well, maybe if they end up the "First Four" play-in round -- much less a third weekend.

I snagged an in-person AL wildcard win as well as last nights ALDS final. A Royals World Series will nicely bridge my sports watching seasons right through April Madness.

I was at that last regular season game they lost. Not that anyone cares but I was.

I, along with many others here I'm sure, was at the last home game we lost.

Sure didn't see us making a Final Four after that.
