Apparently the Seton Hall game will be on ESPN2 too, don't know if that's been mentioned on this board or not.

Thanks for the link. I had not seen that yet (it does not show up on goshockers.com yet as a tv game). That means so far the Shockers game against Memphis is on espn. And the Shockers games against Alabama, Seton Hall, and Utah are all on espn2. The Shocks game against Detrioit is on espnU and all 3 games in Hawaii will be one either espnU or espn2. That is a total of 8 of the Shockers non-conference games so far being on the espn family of networks.

I am really glad to see the Seton Hall game on espn2. I was worried it might be carried on fox sports 1 or fox sports 2. Even the Seton Hall web-site noted that it will draw a big audience since it is on espn2 in a prime tv spot:

      The highlights:

      • Road trips to Wichita State (ESPN2), Georgia (ESPNU), and USF (CBSSN) will all be featured on TV. Seton Hall's massive test against the Shockers will now see several hundred thousand viewers at the very least due to being plugged in at the 7 p.m. time slot on ESPN2.

Thanks @shox1989: and @AndShock:. 8 OOC games so far on the ESPN family is very impressive. I also am glad that the SH game didn't get stuck on FS1 or 2 since the ratings are very low for that network.

I noticed this on the SWOMO board

Outside of Wichita no one in the league really has a tv package. And even the shocks doesn't compare to ours. Again we have been really spoiled.
          Thanks for the laughs @Agrinut:.

I guess this means I can still forego a subscription to the sports tier this season.

Note to big east teams: You can get your games shown on big boy TV if you play a Valley team.

Just any Valley team? I feel that you're giving way to much credit to our valley brethren.

Why sure. Apparently SWOMO ST has a better TV package than WSU. Haha

I don't think that they understand how what they have fits into the grand scheme of things. Getting your games on tv is not the same thing as getting on ESPN (not ESPN 3). We've had nearly every one of our games on TV for at least the last 6 or 7 years, but there's still so much room to grow.

Sold out season tickets should mean home games on TV.

SWOMO and the rest of the nation can catch us on the Entertainment and Shocker Programming Network 1/2/U.

@Agrinut: also is predicting 12-0 non-conference (actually, if you see their pathetic schedule it's not all that unreasonable, except it's SWOMO) 14-4 Valley co-champs and a trip to the finals in St. Louis.

The shine be running good right now in rural Missouri.

Seriously, Missouri-Rolla wasn't available? Missouri School of the Mines not accepting buy games?

Missouri Baptist, Webster University and Maryville were reportedly all looking for a home and home.

Sorry, one more MSU thought process from Battin Ram:
                          Highlights of the MVC Schedule
Bears open @ SIU on New Years eve
Bears have Drake here on Saturday 1.3.15
Illinois St is here on a Sunday 1.11.15
                          @ UNI on a Sunday 1.18.15
Wichita St is here on a Wednesday 1.21.15
Bears are at Bradley on Saturday 1.24
We get BH and the Dawgs here for a Saturday 1.31
Play at Wichita on a Saturday 2.7.15
The UNI game here is on a Sunday 2.15.15
and we end the season at Loyola on a Saturday 2.28.15

First 5 games are favorable for a 4-1 start and the the back end of the schedule looks favorable with the last 4
games all very winnable, which could put us on a win streak going into St. Louis.
How are games @SIU, Drake, ISUr, @UNI and WSU "favorable" to go 4-1. At best they would be favored in 3 but probably 2.

Any chance the Saint Louis game gets picked up?

Add in what I can only assume will be at least one ESPN(?) game during the league schedule, and that is some seriously significant national exposure. The average to below-average viewer is predisposed to assume that teams constantly on ESPN are good, which could help change the public narrative about the program.

That leaves only the hard part....winning the games. But they seem to have had that part on lockdown for a few years now.

                              Or another spin on this....
